Véronique Sanson was born in 1949 in Boulogne-Billancourt. The artist is a singer-songwriter and pianist. His parents, music lovers, introduced him to music. His father gave him his first piano lessons, his mother taught him his first guitar chords.

Her parents sent her on numerous language trips and she acquired an excellent level of English.

Initially, in 1967, Véronique Sanson began her career with a trio “Les Roche-Martin”, made up of her sister Violaine, their friend François Bernheim and herself without achieving success. Subsequently, she met Michel Berger, artistic director at Pathé Marconi. This meeting will mark a turning point in his life.

In 1969, the group, for lack of having made a breakthrough, dissolved and Véronique Sanson released her first 45tours with the titles “Le Printemps est là” and “Le Feu du ciel”.

In the 1970s, Michel Berger signed her to Elektra; Véronique Sanson released on March 20, 1972 the album “Amoureux” with the flagship title “Besoin de personne”, directed by Michel Berger then become her companion.

The public discovers her and appreciates her artistic qualities, her innovative style and success will be evident both in France and in Canada.

In 1973, without warning, Véronique Sanson radically changed her life and country, she flew to the United States to join superstar Stephen Stills, with whom she would marry in 1973 and have a son in 1974.

In 1974, the artist returned to France with his third album “Le Maudit”, written, composed, arranged and produced in Hollywood with the American musicians of Stephen Stills.

Her success takes her to the Olympia stage where she gives her first concerts; In 1976 with the help of producer Bernard Saint-Paul, she released the album “Vancouver”, then the first gold record, then Hollywood in 1977 in the Californian style. Véronique Sanson will set fire to the Palais des Sports in Paris. The artist released in 1979, “7th”, the album “Ma revérence”.

In the 1980s, the artist resumed making her albums, divorced from Stephen Stills and separated from Swell, she moved to France with her son. Thereafter, the artist seeks inspiration and takes more time between each album release. Véronique Sanson changes her team of musicians, the team is entirely French except Willy Andersen on guitar.

Véronique Sanson integrates brass instruments, does the Palais des Sports again for weeks and has the Olympia reserved for a month. May the album not be released. Inspiration returned in 1985 with her 8th album “The White Album”, it filled Olympia again and it was a triumph.

She never stops touring, renewing herself, creating new texts and also taking part in the first “Enfoirés” tour brought together on behalf of the Restaurants du Cœur.

She continues to perform, write, tour and in 1999, Véronique Sanson released a record with the first songs of Michel Berger entitled “From a butterfly to a star”, arranged by Hervé Le Duc . In 2007, the artist celebrated his forty years of singing with a complete discography.

In 2013, the Victoires de la Musique decided to celebrate more than 4 decades of an exemplary career with a Victoire d’Honneur.
After 43 years at Warner, Sanson signs with Sony. She is nominated for the sixth time in the Female Performer of the Year category at the Victoires de la Musique 2016.

On November 4, 2016, the 15th studio album by Véronique Sanson was released entitled “Dignes, dingues, therefore …” quickly gold record.
Véronique Sanson received new nominations at the beginning of 2017 at the Victoires de la musique as Female Performer of the Year and Original Song of the Year for “And I Call It Again”.
In 2020, Véronique Sanson returns to the “Enfoirés” troupe after 21 years of absence. The same year, the singer announces that a new album should be released in 2021
