NM1: TBC inflicts its first defeat of the season on Rueil (99 – 66)

Toulouse (4-2) took third place in group A, which they share with Vitré and Poitiers, Rueil retains second position with a lost match.

The Toulousains, with a complete basket on both sides of the field, put a kick to Rueil, unbeaten until Friday night, who had no collective solution to propose in order to win.

Unbeaten before this meeting, the Parisian suburbanites start the game from the right end and lead the debates in the first act before coming up against a wall afterwards.

The most crucial game of the final round was RAC’s (5-1) first on TBC’s fourth field on Friday night. TBC, he ended the streak of five consecutive Rueil Athletic Club victories at the same time.

The score is favorable to the RAC players who manage to take the best of the flock of Stéphane Dao because of a Warren Racine already very present on both sides of the field while the Toulouse are turning the swells to find the flaw in the opposing defense (18-23, 10th).

Subsequently, the TBC Bulls’ defense took the best of the attacks from the Ile-de-France residents who failed many times against the Toulouse wall (nine pawns registered).

They passed Rueli 43-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. TBC presses where it hurts: under the circle. Yangue and Anderson carry the locals in the lead (26-23, 12th). As Thimon and Yao-Delon rhyme with tuning fork, they get down to it. TBC escape (33-25, 16th) and remain in control until the break (41-32).
Toulouse looked well organized offensive, distributing 29 assists against just 15 assists from RAC players.

If the third quarter of the TBC is less successful defensively, Anderson (18 points, and 9 rebounds) and Solle stand out under the circle while Aygalenq (3 of 6 to 3 points in 22 minutes) and Yao -Delon feast from a distance. The advance of the TBC climbs (67-51, 30th) until exceeding 25 lengths in the last period (79-53, 34th) in the wake of a Yao-Delon on fire (20 points, 4 out of 7 to 3 points, 7 rebounds). Rueil has nothing but individual exploits to pit against the TBC collective that rolls out to the buzzer.

The Toulouse coach was very confident to have used 11 players, which allowed the starters to rest a bit for the next matches.

Due to an excellent skill (37/69 on shots, or 53% of successes and in particular 11/15 behind the arc, or 73% of successes), a dominant presence on the rebound (47 against 28) and ‘a very tempting and sharing collective game, the Toulousains of the TBC won a meeting of the highest caliber.

Toulouse (4-2) took third place in group A, which they share with Vitré and Poitiers, Rueil retains second position with a lost match.
TBC looks forward to facing JSA Bordeaux (# 13) on the road in the next round and hopes to win another match.
