Julien Joubert is passionate about music. Cellist, pianist, singer, he turned to composition, both musical comedy and opera, symphonic music, chamber music and ballet.
He also proves to be a talented actor in this play which he himself wrote and directed with great humor and love. We laugh and we learn.
I sing, I sing, evening and morning…
Brimming with energy, he jumps off his stool, grimaces, exults, becomes enthusiastic, constantly passing from his clavinova to the audience, whom he involves throughout the show to help them discover the mysteries of composition.
Singing.
He will successively summon Mozart, Schumann, Legrand, Trenet, Bruel, Strauss, to give some rules of composition… melody, tempo, scale, arpeggios, harmonic march…
For the text, he makes us savor the magnificent poetry of Apollinaire and Prévert and Kosma.
And here we go, we have the keys… of C to compose.
So we sing.
The Beautiful Blue Danube… So we dance.
In 1 hour 15 minutes, all together, we put “The Cat and the Sun” to music!
And when we leave the theater to go join the actor at the « Café qui Chante », sorry, « qui Parle » (24 rue Caulaincourt 75018 Paris), we suddenly feel the urge to sing, but a desire to sing…
