An administrative investigation was opened at the request of the Minister of Justice, Eric Dupont – Moretti, after the organization of events inspired by the Koh Lanta game for the benefit of associations, at Fresne prison (94).
In a video on You Tube, relating to this event which took place on July 27, we can see 3 teams of prisoners, guards and young inhabitants of the city compete in different ‘tests: questionnaire, karting, mime or tug of war over the pool. This is the second episode of Kohlanness, the « Koh Lanta of the estates », the first having opposed the inhabitants of the estates to the police, almost 2 years ago.
For this second opus, we find ourselves immersed in the prison of Fresnes (94). for a confrontation like Intervilles but within the walls of a remand center.
Why Kohlanness?
Djibril Dramé, from the city of « Groux » in Fresnes in his thirties. Great athlete, he applied to participate in the television show Koh Lanta but his application was not accepted. He decided, 2 years ago, to create, in Fresne « Kohlanness », the « Koh Lanta of cities ». For having revisited the most watched TV show, we compare him to Denis Brogniard. We also find the test of the posts as in the original program, with the addition of tear gas sprayed on the candidates.
To realize his dream, he met the host Denis Brogniard, then he participated in the sports events of the game « Ninja Warrior ». Djibril’s wish is to bring people together while having fun. This is what attracted one of his former colleagues, Aicha Baraka who also deals with reintegration. Together, they « decided to break the codes and do what people don’t usually do » Sending a message is the goal of this action. « If it can help with the reintegration of detainees and give comfort to the guards, that’s good! It shows that we are all human behind it, » he said. The idea was the same for the first episode on the police and the cities. « A lot of people from the estates didn’t want to do it against the police. But we have to change mentalities, » he added.
The idea of filming this second episode in Fresnes prison was proposed by Aicha Baraka, taking into account the fact that « convicts have more and more full reductions ». She therefore thought that « this time of incarceration could allow them to be reintegrated outside ». One of the sine-qua-non conditions was that no candidate should have been convicted of harming the physical and/or moral integrity of a person.
At the end of the events, a check for 1,700 euros was shared between 3 associations:
The Children-Parents Relay which promotes the maintenance of the relationship between a child and his detained parent
The Arc-en-ciel association, which works in memory of Séverine Fauvarque, supervisor who died in Fresnes
Uniless, an association created 1 month ago by a relative who has the same goals as Djibril Dramé, to whom he is close.
The next episodes should continue to change the image of young people from the estates, by having them meet firefighters or the military in order to make them change their minds about the authorities.
The production removes the video
Already decried by the opposition and the RN, the video was the victim of another controversy concerning a candidate with a heavy criminal record, (conviction for rape) who participated in the tug of war. Although part of a reintegration process and other school and university activities, he did not fit into the values advocated by the organization. A second inmate, also enrolled in a reintegration program, but convicted of murder, also participated in the tests.
