A signing evening of the book “I have the memory of the boards” by Christian Laurent, took place on November 9 at the Librairie Théâtrale, and the preface is dedicated to Dominique Besnehard.
Christian Laurent, born in Montmartre after the Second World War in 1948, in his childhood admiring the illuminated posters of the Morris columns, and in adolescence extended the joys of the child, becoming an actor.
His book is a rich work where we follow the author’s journey. An actor from the age of 14, without abandoning the stage, he became a director, cabaret director, then theater and even circus director, to become a producer.
He tells of happiness alongside sacred monsters, and what he did in certain galleys. He recounts the tenderness, the barbs, the laughter.
Christian Laurent met many personalities including Danielle Darrieux, Michel Bouquet, Michel Serrault, Jean-Paul Belmondo, all of whom are the subject of fascinating anecdotes.
A life replayed in these pages, staged by destiny, with the exceptional distribution of the author who has crossed paths with numerous personalities including: Jean-Paul Belmondo, Jean Piat, Jacqueline Maillan, Michel Bouquet, Romain Duris , Sacha Guitry, Robert Lamoureux, Jean le Poulain, Louis Aragon, Robert Hossein, Gina Lollobrigida, Robert Thomas, Annie Girardot, Jean-Claude Brialy, Michel Serrault, Danielle Darrieux, and a hundred others, moving, annoying and funny, unforgettable.
An extremely interesting book, requested abroad by readers only a few hours after its publication in bookstores. For those interested, they can order the book directly from the theatrical bookstore, 3 rue Marivaux, 75002 Paris, on the bookstore’s website and request a dedication from the author.
