Rosalie Baudry & Rodin Kaufmann presented « Polatocha » on August 19 in concert at the Agathois Jules Baudou Museum. The concert was held in partnership with CIRDOC – Institut occitan de cultura, ensuring the promotion of contemporary Occitan creation.
« There is no such thing as a flying squirrel in Occitania ».
The duo formed by Rosalie Baudry on violin and vocals, and Rodín on vocals and machines, invent a poetic chimera, like this rodent. Rodin Kaufmann, the multi-form Occitan poet and young classically trained violinist, create fine music, light by the sound of the violin and raw, even modern by the sound of samplers, analog synthesizers and the Roland TR 808.
Poetry, music, intimacy and performance come together in this « Polatocha ».
Their two voices carry the words of the poet, bringing into play a wide range of possibilities, from spoken word to polyphony. Contemporary Occitan poetics, fragile but lively like their flying squirrel, takes flight for a suspended moment.
Occitan poetry.
