This reception of Annecy, 8th in the standings, was the ideal match to finally break the series of six defeats in a row conceded by the TBHC.
Dragged into a negative spiral, the Canadian coach’s team wants to get out of it quickly. Sixth in the standings, the TBHC is struggling to return to success, the latest being against Villard-de-Lans on December 3 (0-0).
They no longer dare to put Toulouse’s defeats as surprises, even at home, as this team seems to be liquefying at the end of the season without anyone understanding why. All the other teams in the top 4 won and consolidated their position.
They continued to hope for a redemption from Toulouse with a return to victory on their ice against Savoyards who were a little struggling but who had been able to do the necessary last Saturday against Clermont-Fd. A priori this good result will have had consequences on the banks of the Garonne because they will have been able to shake up the Belugas. After a goalless 1st third things settled down during the 2nd period and if the Toulouse opened the scoring well, the Savoyards quickly took the lead and no longer let go of the match. This disastrous end to the regular season will therefore have seen the Occitans slip from 1st to 7th place and it may not be over. Fortunately for them, they can no longer go lower than 8th place, but it would be miraculous if they repeated the course they gave us last season in the play-off. Even less well off recently, paradoxically the Knights of the Lake theoretically still have the possibility of integrating the top 4.
The Belugas suffered from the same symptoms as against Clermont and HCMP (Hockey Courchevel Méribel Pralognan). They were never really overtaken by their opponents, but they still couldn’t find the key. The Knights of the Lake won the match 5-3 against TBHC.
