New rallies in support of Ukraine were planned for this weekend across Europe. Tens of thousands marched in Zurich, Switzerland, and several hundred more in London. A week ago, hundreds of thousands of people in yellow and blue colors took to the streets: a few thousand in Russia, at least 100,000 in Berlin, 70,000 in Prague, 40,000 in Madrid in particular.

From Paris to New York, Rome or Zürich, thousands of demonstrators once again took to the streets of major Western cities on Saturday to say “stop” to the war and protest against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

At the national level, the Ministry of the Interior counted 119 gatherings. In Lyon, a few hundred people gathered at Place Bellecour to express their support for President Volodymyr Zelensky and his population, subjected in several cities to the bombardments of the Moscow army.
In the Dordogne, several rallies took place this Saturday. About 300 people took part in the Périgueux rally at the start of the afternoon. They were between 70 and 80 in Sarlat in the morning and around sixty in Montignac.
In Bayonne, more than 300 people gathered this Saturday afternoon in front of the town hall, responding to the call of several associations to come to the support of Ukraine.
“Stop the massacre, save Ukraine!” “: around 850 people gathered on Saturday afternoon in the city center of Lille, according to the prefecture, to “support the Ukrainians” and call for the withdrawal of Russian troops. “Nato, shelter our sky!” “(NATO, protect our sky), “Putin, Hands off my home” (Putin, remove your hands from my house)”, demanded many demonstrators on placards, in the middle of dozens of Ukrainian flags, the cheeks sometimes made up of yellow and blue.
“Close the Ukrainian sky”, “avoid a nuclear disaster”, demanded the demonstrators – 2,000 according to the prefecture – in Rennes. Among the 500 demonstrators, according to the prefecture, gathered at the Old Port in Marseille.
In Rome, a vast “peace procession” brought together thousands of people at the call of several unions and many NGOs.

In Zagreb, more than a thousand people gathered, holding placards reading “Stop the war, Save Europe”, and “Glory to Ukraine”.
In New York, a few thousand people gathered in Times Square with sunflowers, emblems of Ukraine, and signs calling to “stop Russian terrorism”.
Giant screens had been installed in the square and broadcast live in the early evening a speech by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
This speech was also followed by a dense crowd in Tbilisi, Georgia, where tens of thousands of people took to the streets, but also in Frankfurt, Germany.
