Aggression with the knife in the second district of Paris: a death and four wounded, attacking it killed

An attacker, which was controlled by the police, attacked several people with the knife street Monsigny, in full heart of Paris Saturday evening.

A man attacked several passers by with the knife in the heart of Paris. The aggression took place in the 21 hour old neighbourhoods in the 2rd district, street Monsigny. A district of bars, restaurants and theatres very attended every Saturday evening.

Four passers by were also wounded: two seriously, transported in “top priority” at the hospital Georges–Pompidou, and two others more slightly.
The attacker was controlled by the police dispatched on the spot. He was cut down by balls.

The Home Secretary, Gérard Collomb, reacted in the tread on Twitter by greeting “the coolness and the reactivity of the contingents of police which neutralized the attacker. My first thoughts go to the victims of this odious act”. Always on Twitter, the police headquarter of Parsee announced that the prefect of police, Michel Delpuech, made a point “of ensuring the victims and their families of his support. It in addition discussed with the police officers having neutralized the attacker to greet their action.”

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, also took the floor on this same social network: “This evening, our city was ravaged. My first thoughts go to the family of the victim which died. I also think of the casualties and their close relations. I want to tell them that all the Parisians are at their sides.” Elected concluded by greeting the police officers as well as the first–aid organizations.

The murder squad was seized, according to legal sources, whereas the motivations of the attacker are for the time being unknown.
This attack intervenes whereas France lives under a constant terrorist threat. The last murderous attack, on March 23rd in Carcassonne and Trèbes (Aude), had changed to 245 the number of victims killed in the attacks on the French soil since 2015.

Little before midnight, the Islamic State group asserted the agressionvia its Amaq news agency.
Previously, the public prosecutor of Paris, François Molins, had indicated that the antiterrorist section was seized, the investigation is carried out in particular under the qualifications of “assassination” and “attempted murders on people agents of the public authority”, “in relation to a terrorist enterprise”, he specified. He added that witnesses had heard the attacker shout “Allahou Akbar” at the time when he had passed to the act.
