For the second year in a row, the Paris-Geneviève association organized its “Paris is worth a party” festival to the delight of history enthusiasts.
On September 9 and 10, the festival met participants near the Pantheon, between the 5th and 6th arrondissement, near Place St-Sulpice. For the occasion, a historical parade, a medieval banquet and a ball took us back in time, through a period of 1,500 years of Parisian life, from the Middle Ages to the Liberation via the Belle-Epoque.
In a multi-era village, actors, craftsmen, stone sculptors, wood carvers ran stands to showcase the atmosphere of the era completely free of charge. The festivities were followed by a medieval banquet where people could feast, in costume, with family or friends, accompanied by troubadours and storytellers around Clovis and Clothilde. The parade, for its part, consisted of brass bands, historic vehicles, dancers and historical Parisian figures or the conference around the women who made the capital shine, through music, gastronomy, literature and crafts.
In order to become the « Honorary Citizen » of this edition and embody Geneviève, first mayor of Paris, you had to be Parisian and passionate about the history of the city, committed to its influence in a project or cause close to your heart .
