The capital and twenty-six municipalities of Greater Paris celebrated the twentieth edition, and last in its autumn version, of the event inspired by the painting by Jérôme Bosch.
The Garden of Delights, famous triptych by Jérôme Bosch, is the theme chosen for the 2022 edition of Nuit Blanche, which took place in Paris and beyond the ring road on Saturday October 1. This painting describes the Garden of Eden, paradise and its lust but also hell, which promises a Night capable of delighting all the senses as much as shivering.
This anniversary edition marks a turning point, since it is the last to be organized in October, traditionally a month when contemporary art occupies a central place in Paris on the sidelines of the International Contemporary Art Fair, replaced, from this year, by Paris+ by ArtBasel. Following a consultation with Parisians, the Nuit blanche will thus migrate to June from 2023.
This ultimate autumnal Nuit blanche, concocted by artistic director Kitty Hartl around the idea of a contemporary Garden of Delights, in thirteen dreamlike and spicy proposals, mainly in the center of Paris, with a route of around two hours on foot , is accompanied by some eighty projects relating to the associated program (museums, art centres, town halls, churches, theatres, libraries, etc.), around a hundred artistic projects have to be discovered in Paris, and as many in Greater Paris , a natural extension of the event for the fourth year. And, this year for the first time, the Nuit blanche also went up the Seine to Rouen and Le Havre.
