After their defeat at Aurillac on the last day, the rugby players of the dove club welcomed the Basques this Friday, February 23, as part of the 21st day of the championship.

In the standings, Colomiers clung to its dream of the play-offs, sitting in 7th place in Pro D2, with 46 points. This Friday, February 23, the Haut-Garonnais welcomed a team from Biarritz penultimate in the ranking. The BO is going through a complicated season, fighting to stay alongside Angoulême and Rouen.

Colomiers Rugby imposed its law against Olympic Biarritz. Already well ahead at the break (18-0), the local club did not have to force too much to finally win, with the offensive bonus.

Having emerged victorious in its last two matches at home, the club coached by Julien Sarraute scored a third victory in a row this Friday evening in front of its home crowd. Julien Sarraute’s players defeated the Basque team quite easily, 51-14. They thus glean five points and return to the top six, a week after leaving it. For its part, the BO remains more than ever, penultimate in the division.

After a well-negotiated touch in the opposing 22 meters, the Columérins spread the ball to the right and Brett Herron with a beautiful jump pass, sent his winger, Vincent Pinto, into the red and white goal (5-0 , 3rd).

Colomiers doubled the lead thanks to its powerful second line Maxime Granouillet who, in strength, allowed his team to take the lead even though we hadn’t even been playing for ten minutes (12-0, 7th).

Colomiers, thanks to two penalties passed by Thomas Girard (15-0, 16th then 18-0, 29th) continued to increase its lead and we had to wait for added time.

Probably upset, Biarritz attacked the second half with a slightly more conquering face. The Basques were able to find progress on their possessions and Tornike Jalagonia, coming out of a scrum, scored the first points for his team (18-7, 46th). Colomiers really entered the second act around the 50th minute and despite a generally poor touch (5 munitions lost in total), it was on a well-guided ball carried and concluded by Thomas Larrieu that the locals kept a comfortable mattress (23 -7, 54th).

Tornike Jalagonia, with a strong try, brought his team to nine points (23-14, 61st), but the illusion was short-lived. Three minutes later, after a scrum in his 45 meters, Colomiers found the solution thanks to the good work of Dorian Laborde, who then served Martin Dulon, who finished his race between the posts (30-14, 65th).

Rodrigo Marta following a play at the foot of Galthié, pushed the winger into the red and white goal (37-14, 73rd). In the process, Andrew Ready, in force, added to the score (44-14, 79th) and on the last action of the match, Dulon intercepted a pass from Hilsenbeck to seal the score (51-14, 80th) .

Already well ahead at the break (18-0), the local club did not have to force too much to finally win, with the offensive bonus.
