This Sunday, March 3, French women’s rugby broke the attendance record for an Elite1 championship match during the Toulouse-Blagnac clash and derby.
Stade Toulousain, which decided to organize this match of the 9th day at Ernest-Wallon (3 p.m.), had opted for a security service planned for an attendance of well over 6,000 spectators.
The announcer at the Ernest-Wallon stadium announced an attendance of 6,397 spectators.
An attendance record for an Elite1 championship match broken twice in one week, admit that it is a great showcase for French women’s rugby.
On February 24, the meeting between ASM Romagnat and Stade Bordeaux had already attracted 6,025 people to the Michelin side. Proof that women’s rugby is in full development.
On the pitch, the match was very close between two teams who are contenders for the title at the end of the season. It was ultimately the Toulouse women who won at home. Ahead at the break, the locals logically won (17-11).
