Like every year, the Salon de l’Agriculture, an unmissable event for the agricultural world, was held at the end of February at the Paris Exhibition Center.
A special edition since this year he celebrated his 60th birthday! On the theme “Soils and lands: life in your hands”.
The opportunity to meet farmers, to see the animals – EAR of course, the Norman cow, the muse of this year 2024 – and to discover the different activities in the agricultural world:
– breeding and its sectors with a milking parlor, an educational farm and a goat farm
– plant crops
– products from the Regions of France, Overseas and the World
– Agricultural services and professions
as well as workshops, demonstrations, competitions, conferences and tastings.
The agriculture of tomorrow and innovation was at the heart of the event.
Technological advances that could encourage ecological agricultural practices were presented.
The Agricultural Show is also the place for exchanges between farmers and politicians, who, following the inauguration by President Emmanuel Macron, went from stand to stand.
The anger of farmers was expressed, while Prime Minister Gabriel Attal presented measures such as the pause of the Ecophyto plan and the strengthening of the Egalim law.
Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, announced the implementation of a new support plan for organic farming of 90 million euros and takes stock of the significant progress of the year 2023 for the fruit and vegetable sector.
This year again, LIDL is the only distributor present at SIA. The brand supports the agricultural world.
The South Region presented the Menton Lemon, IGP, cultivated since the 15th century but which has become rare.
Promotional operations aim to revive this culture.
There was also the “CLOS MISTINGUETT” which is one of the classified growths of Provence.
At the shellfish farming stand, an activity which brings together the cultivation of hollow and flat oysters, mussels, clams and cockles, Marcel LESOILLE, Champion and World Record Holder for opening oysters (thirty per minute!), welcomed Emmanuel MACRON in front of a plateau of Marennes d’Oléron during his inaugural visit to the SIA.
Stop at the Centre-Val de Loire region, Eure-et-Loire department.
We discover EURELIENNE, a craft beer made in Sours near Chartres. The “Rousse” has just obtained a gold medal, the “Triple”, a silver medal. L’Eurélienne is a family story, the CROSNIERs, who, from a small workshop installed in the farm’s stable, moved to a microbrewery, then to a large brewery with more than 12 beers in its range and distributing in more than 500 points of sale.
The “Guadeloupe Pavilion” welcomed Cédric COUTELIER, agro-forestry producer of organic VANILLA, a major player in the dynamic of relaunching vanilla cultivation in Guadeloupe.
Already present in 2020 at the SIA, he won a gold medal.
The stand also hosted the “RHUM PUNCH MABI” from the Compagnie des Rhums.
There too, a family story. A mother and her 2 daughters, using a tasty agricultural rum, make delicious punches enriched with Guadeloupe fruits, star fruit, mombin, local cherry and apricot, maracudja, pineapple, coconut, banana, Cytheran plum, cashew, etc. .
See you next year for the new High Mass for farmers and consumers.
