CharlyHO thanks the magazine « Le monde de la photo » through a photo shoot

„To thank them in my own way, I decided to paint their portrait with the magazine; and the time has come, "The Photo World" published a new "My Little Job" article on issue 129, the chance to do my project. ”

Solidarity: during the COVID pandemic

In issue 123 of the magazine « Le monde de la photo », the journalist Vincent Trujillo devoted himself to understanding the wonderful world of the photographer and the daily reality of the works exhibited on November 28 at the Salons Hoche-Paris.

« Le Monde de la photo is a reference magazine in France for those passionate about the image and today about the video. A complete magazine, both culture and technology. »

« I can say that I grew up with the Magazine’s content, whether it’s technical, material or cultural. I remember my first photo magazine in a Parisian kiosk, among a wide range, I stopped at Le MONDE DE LA PHOTO, or LMDP for the intimate. »

« It was obvious that by being self-taught, and having no photographic culture at the time, I had to build a base, both technically and with my camera in hand to perform the various experiments, and materially to be able to make my choices about what would best suit me. »

« So, for my first contact with the world of photography, it’s THE WORLD OF PHOTO. A coincidence, a happy coincidence, a synchronicity for today… I believe so, yes. It’s obvious, and it’s all the more obvious when I crossed the path of Vincent TRUJILLO, the founder of the Magazine, thanks to Rodolphe DELVAL from PHOTO PHOTO. »

« I just met a good, simple man, full of humility with touching authenticity. Vincent is well surrounded by a formidable team, including Benjamin FAVIER, editor. THE WORLD OF PHOTO, it is above all a passionate team that write, compose, publish for photographers. »

« I used to take the time to pick up my LDMA every time it was published, today I chose an annual subscription. To tell the truth, if there were a 10-year subscription, I would obviously have subscribed for 10 years, I know that even in 10 years, they will still be there, animated with the same passion with the same intensity. »

« I only hope wholeheartedly that all photography enthusiasts take the time to discover this Magazine, and that they subscribe to support THE WORLD OF PHOTO. »

Talking of talent through a series of portraits realized, with a slogan defined « success and talent », the 100 paintings « WHY ME » – « WHY ME » , have as models different characters that are part of the French society.

Seeing that we live in a timeless, unattractive, indifferent society, Charly HO has found a solution to get the most attention to his work, for which he has spent about two years.

He has built a new technical plan for his photographic project, in order to get the visitor to look at the images, but also to discover carefully each strategic and technical point of photography.

It gives the opportunity to experience the social moments of the French Society, through the 100 images displayed by its models, regardless of their professional status.

VISITOR SYNOPSIS:

The discovery of each model through simplicity and real modesty, by presenting only a half-portrait of the person, highlights the social and professional life of these models (success, talent, desire to succeed in his career, self-confidence, fighting spirit, courage and optimism, conveyed by each man or woman through the 100 portraits).

The artist chose men and women like Jeanne d’Hauteserre, Oscar Sisto, two people with a different life experience, two portraits that caught my attention, I try to understand the true value of the artist but also the reality interpreted by a visitor.

Looking at the portrait created by an image of a pictorial style in black and white, I understand an exhibition in the light of extravagance and coherence through authenticity, I share the opportunity to travel in the convivial space of the model, regaining the characteristics of the past but also of the present well hidden in the personal and professional life of the character.

CharlyHO’s portrait of the politician and mayor of Paris’s 8th arrondissement, Jeanne d’Hauteserre, reveals simplicity, joy, strength, but also its Asian origin; the expression of her face is full of confidence, courage, intelligence, social and professional success, a strong woman with both social and cultural values.

Jeanne d’Hauteserre, is determined, with constructive ideas, even if we see the expressive smile we find attractive in her daily life, trying to hide the opposite side of her subconscious, like failure or discontent.

His sensitive human side, full of charisma and enthusiasm, gives the opportunity to travel to his past and present, leaving the opportunity to misanalyze his hidden portrait and to see her as a mysterious woman.

Among the 100 models is also the portrait of a theater man, Oscar Sisto, actor, theater teacher and director.

Looking closely, we have the opportunity to discover the qualities and flaws of the character (intelligent, calm, simple, honest, determined, believing).

Another face that is difficult to see, but where we find that it is extremely shy, sensitive, human, very thorough and demanding.

I wonder what the author discovered in each portrait of the models that served him in his work!

How was the new photography project born?

« The event was created by netizens, thanks to the 123 issue of « The World of Photography », where 10 pages were published in a large form of the « Why Me » project. »

« Netizens posted a selfie on social media with the number 123 to show their support, a wonderful initiative, and this time, citizens renewed this performance. »

« Since the number 123 was printed with 35,000 copies, I wanted to carry my support further and more precisely. »

« To thank them in my own way, I decided to do their portrait with the magazine, when the time came. » The world of photography » published a new article « My Little Job » on issue 129, the chance to do my project. »

For this event I had the help of Sébastian Selection and Satou Luminel at the Phox video selection shop located at 4 rue de Laborde in Paris in the 8th arrondissement, a shop dedicated to professional photography.

PHOTO SELECTION:

« Right next to Gare Saint-Lazare, along rue Laborde, at exactly n°4, there is a place where all the actors of the world of image and video converge. History will tell us that it is the crossroads of photographers, photojournalists, war reporters, and builders such as LEICA, CANON, NIKON, FUJIFILM… »

SELECTION PHOTO was one of the largest PHOX PHOTO stores, large by its references, by its community, but above all large by its services. Sébastien, recently graduated from Les Gobelins, a prestigious school dedicated to the image, was a Store employee.

His former boss wished to pass on his baby to him, seeing Sebastian, a worthy heir to the Magazine with deep-rooted values. Out of passion and honor, he accepted this new challenge from scratch. We had to run after the bankers, keep the existing employees, the players in the trades, while bringing a new breath.

Today, Sébastien MARIGNANI formed a growing community despite fierce competition from the FATF. The differences between PHOTO SELECTION and large distributions such as AMAZONE, LA FNAC and consor…none. The prices are identical, the only notable difference being that the same passion, the passion that Sébastien had when he decided to take over the Store. Sébastien is the Doctor of Photography and Video Materials.

He listens, he diagnoses, he prescribes a photographic « care sheet ». We’ll talk about photography, uninhibited techniques, he’ll talk to you about your practice. He loves it. We can call this service, of course, but for him, it’s just fun… So, there is a difference between Sebastian and the big distribution on the WEB?
« It’s up to you to make a real experience of it … «

At the October 8 event, 150 people announced their participation, in reality only 147 guests crossed the studio threshold, but the number of participants was much higher. For this reason, CharlyHO decided to organize a second photo session on 14 October, taking into account the number of magazines sold (220 pieces).

Among the participants were great painters, lawyers, gastronomic chefs, businessmen and women, athletes, association presidents … They loved the concept and all joined the project « Portrait à 1 euro ».

« What emerges from all this experience is that there is mutual solidarity, for a symbolic euro — 1 portrait with the magazine, is a hand stretched to break COVID’s darkness, » says CharlyHo. «

Through the project Why Me, the photographer reported the existence of social harmony regardless of the origin of each man or woman who served as a model to thank France, regardless of their social status, but also to expose the reality of living together.

In turbulent times, such as the 2015 attacks, the tense moments of the yellow vests, or pension reform, citizens can stay united, regardless of the situation.

The second project is of paramount importance, highlighting the unity and the struggle of everyone to achieve economic, social, but also cultural recovery, daily life at an extremely critical time in the world.

For more than 6 months, France has lived a period of subsistence, struggling to overcome the critical moments that marked the health system with the COVID-19 pandemic, in which the citizen and the economy are undergoing a major change.

Looking at the new model of the « My Little Job » project that took place on October 8, we see the freedom to realize, to assert, to express, to exist, to be united, to be strong, to be strong, to be hopeful, to be courageous, a point of confidence that helps to build and revive the daily, economic and social life of a strong society during a period of health crisis.

Looking at CharlyHO’s career, half of his life is devoted to the pleasure of photography.

What attracts his attention and inspires his confidence, his unity, his support, gives him the power to live and express himself through his work.
