Unconvincing in the game, the Dacquois did not manage to get a result against the Columérins, this Friday (43-16). They will have to remobilize before facing the SA XV to hope to finish this first block of the year in the top 6.
A slap and regrets. If the magnitude of the score suggests a real slap received in Colomiers (defeat 43-16) with three tries conceded during the first half hour, US Dax made the Columérins sweat by coming back to only six lengths at the hour mark. A reaction before diving by conceding three tries again in the last six minutes of the match to close the score.
Bitterness is characterized by resentment caused by regret or disappointment. After this heavy defeat in Colomiers (43-16), the Dax can feed disappointments and regrets. After a week in the spotlight following the success against Brive (22-9) on January 10, this trip to Haute-Garonne could offer a new opportunity for satisfaction. Given the physiognomy of the match, we can see that Colomiers took seriously the reception of the team led by manager Jeff Dubois.
The Dax team were surprised after only three minutes by a three-quarter attack concluded by Pinto (3rd, 5-0). Colomiers validated its good start with a penalty from Auriac (13th, 8-0) before the referee, on the momentum, sanctioned Dax with two yellow cards against Guillaume Bouche (21st) and Alexandre Manukula (24th). Thirteen minutes in numerical inferiority where the Columérins scored two tries by Alonso (24th, 15-0) and El Ansani (33rd, 22-3). Despite the penalty from Romuald Séguy (27th) before the third try.
Colomiers continued to push, regularly settling into the opponent’s 22 meters. In the 13th minute, Auriac passed a penalty to bring the score to 8-0. Despite some defensive attempts by the Dacquois, the Columérins scored a second try in the 25th minute thanks to Alonso-Muñoz, after some good work by Pinto. Auriac converted this time, making the score 15-0. Dax, reduced to 13 players after two yellow cards (Bouche in the 22nd and Manukula in the 26th), struggled to contain the opposing attacks.
Before the young hooker Kito Falatea scored his first try in red and white (58th, 22-13) and Séguy validated the Dacquois revival with a drop goal after the hour mark (63rd, 22-16).
Having only come back six points, US Dax continued to push but came up against a tight Colomiers defense in order not to sink. Who made his first foray into the 22-metre line of Dacquois a reality with a ball carried and flattened by Dimcheff (74th, 29-16). This try annihilated the Landes hopes and allowed the Columérins to regain the offensive bonus point secured later with two additional tries (six in total) by Timu (78th, 36-16) and Maurel (80th, 45-16) after Sylvère Réteau received a third yellow card against the Dacquois (77th) for a foul coming out of the scrum.
However, Colomiers quickly regained control. Dimcheff scored a try in the 74th minute, converted by Auriac, to give his team some breathing room (29-16). Then, Timu distinguished himself in the 79th by scoring the offensive bonus try, a first this season for the Columérins. Finally, Maurel definitively sealed the fate of the match with a final try at 80+2′, converted by Auriac.
In less than eight minutes, Colomiers had scored three tries, leaving the Dacquois powerless at the end of the match. This victory, with the offensive bonus point, confirmed the great dynamic of the Columérins.
Dax will have to quickly remobilize before going to Soyaux-Angoulême XV, Friday January 24. The red and white will be keen to get a result against a team that remains strong.
