While the pension reform occupies all sectors with 3 inter-union demonstrations announced on March 7, 11 and 15, we note the organization of 2 rallies to defend women’s rights, on March 6 and 8.

March 6 feminist strike

Initiated by the association AG feminist Paris-Banlieue, the “feminist night march” was held on March 6 in Paris from 8 p.m.

The rally took place at 6:30 p.m. on the forecourt of the Opéra Garnier to head towards the Hôtel de Ville. It is mainly aimed at women who could not take part in the demonstration on March 8, International Women’s Day.

On this occasion, more than a thousand participants gathered to denounce the pension reform project, “to bring to life an alternative to the capitalist, racist and sexist system” and to launch a feminist strike “in nearly 150 cities in France.

On the signs, we could read: “Sexism is everywhere, we too”, “Let’s destroy the patriarchy, not the planet”, “Hell is men” or “Neither god, nor man”.

This non-mixed demonstration was the beginning of the mobilization of March 8 in the middle of the social movement on pensions. With this action, the women want to prove that stopping their salaried or domestic work can stop the whole of society: if women stop, the world stops.”

On the eve of the national day of inter-union mobilization, it was important to show the demands of women, among which we saw equal pay and the revaluation of feminized professions, the fight against feminicide, sexism, harassment…
