The premiere of the film “One Love” about the life of Bob Marley took place last Thursday, February 1 at the Grand Rex in Paris to the sound of the reggae singer’s songs.
Some of the 11 children recognized by the Jamaican singer who died at the age of 36 in 1981, were present for this exceptional event in the presence of the Paramount Pictures France team and 2,700 spectators. We were able to meet, flag on his shoulders, Ziggy, the son he had with one of his 7 wives, Rita, accompanied by his wife Orly and his 7 children. but also his son Rohan. It was also an opportunity for them to meet the British actor Kinsley Ben-Adir who plays their father on screen.
Many guests were present at the Rex, including the director of the film, Reinaldo Marcus Green, the singer Joyce Jonathan, the judoka Teddy Riner who came with his wife Lutha, the singer Christine and the Queens, the presenter Flavie Flament and her son Enzo Castaldi, the actress Frédérique Bel and the race car driver Paul Belmondo, the singer Anisha revealed in the previous season of Star Academy, the actor Agustin Galiana, the chef Juan Arbelaez….Several Miss France had made the trip including Eve Gilles ( Miss 2024), Amandine Petit (Miss 2021), Delphine Wespiser (Miss 2012), Indira Ampiot (Miss 2023), Alicia Aylies (Miss 2017) and Flora Coquerel (Miss 2014).
On stage, presenter Ophélie Meunier invited pianist Sofiane Pamart and singer Loreen (twice winner of Eurovision in 2012 and 2023) to cover “Could You Be Loved” by Bob Marley. A collective of 54 dancers dressed in black and dancing only with their arms then paid tribute to the late singer. After applause, the film crew is called on stage to present the feature film retracing the personal and artistic journey of the reggae icon. The film will be released in theaters on February 14.
