After the gala dinner on December 10, 2023 for the 25th anniversary of the CitéStars association, created and directed by David Donadei, underprivileged children were able to enjoy a show at Cirque Phénix (75012) for the 26th Christmas tree.
Many stars were present to distribute gifts to child victims of mistreatment and sexual abuse. During the Christmas Tree at the beginning of January 2024, everyone responded to David Donadéi’s invitation for this collaboration with the Phénix circus. The children were able to count on the dedication and generosity of personalities (artists, athletes, journalists, comedians, partners, etc.) without forgetting the mayors and elected politicians including Laurent Jeanne (mayor of Champigny sur Marne) the televisions and the press. Everyone was delighted to pose with the children in front of the photographers’ lenses in a relaxed atmosphere.
To celebrate this Olympic year, we were able to witness the great return of the Beijing Circus Stars after 5 years of absence in the arena, to the delight of young and old alike.
During this show, around forty artists paid tribute to these high-level athletes who are these circus performers. Whether on the mats, the high bar, the parallel or asymmetric bars or during bicycle performances, they all performed feats with precision, leaving the spectators holding their breath. No clowns but a parade of ribboned mascots.
This show is an opportunity to return to the origins of the Phénix circus, created by Alain M. Pacherie at the dawn of the year 2000. Coming from a modest background in the Paris region, he crossed the world to establish a presence in China by becoming the Ringmaster of Cirque Phénix. Since the age of 14, he has never missed a performance in 20 years. He is also responsible for the Festival du Cirque de Demain, which is celebrating its 43rd edition this year. At the start of the year, disadvantaged children from CitéStars were able to attend an extraordinary show in the presence of personalities, a great gift to start 2024.
Among David’s guests, we were able to meet around the cake, the Weather TV presenter Fabienne Amiach, Katia Tchenko (singer and actress), Farid Khider (7 times world boxing champion), Evelyne Dress (actress, writer), Bibi Naceri (actor and screenwriter), Stéphane Ferrara (ex-pro boxer and actor), Ghani Yalouz (general director of INSEP and 2-time European Greco-Roman wrestling champion), Martial Odone (actor and director), Tom Novembre (singer), Mehdi Baala (Vice Olympic and world champion, 2 times European champion and 4 times French athletics champion), Thierry Samitier (comedian and actor), Michel Chevalet (scientist), Philippe Candéloro (vice Olympic champion, world and European figure skating champion) Alain Turban (singer and composer), Cartouche (comedian and actor), Didier Six (ex-professional footballer), Jean-Michel Moutier (ex-professional footballer), Frank Queudrue ( Footballer), Amara Simba (professional footballer), Jean-Philippe Lustik (sports journalist), Joel Epalle (ex-professional footballer), Pierre Lechantre (ex-professional footballer), Gwendal Peizerat (Olympic skating champion) and of course the president of CitéStars David Donadei.
