The first « Caribbean Days » in Paris by the CCCE

The Caribbean Chamber of Commerce in Europe (CCCE) presented the first edition of Caribbean Days in Paris, which took place at the Maison de l'Amérique Latine from June 2 to 6, 2025.

« Caribbean Days » is a series of business and cultural events that showcased « The Best of the Caribbean, » featuring a Caribbean Culinary Week at the restaurant of the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Paris, 7th arrondissement.

In collaboration with the « Les Iles » art gallery, a special POPCaribe exhibition provides the setting for tropical days and evenings, complemented by a book exhibition, an Ambassadors’ Dinner, and professional workshops promoting high-end Caribbean products (such as cocoa, coffee, rum, spirits, and cigars). On the final day, the Tropical Nights took us from the Maison de l’Amérique Latine to the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes.

The program also showcases the creative industries—including art, fashion, film, literature, music, and dance—as well as other cultural events. After a successful first edition in Brussels in 2022, the initiative is now expanding to other European cities, such as the first edition held in Paris.

Organized as part of the 12th edition of the Latin American and Caribbean Weeks, from May 22 to June 8, coordinated by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Caribbean Days in Paris also included a Caribbean Culinary Week. A special three-course Caribbean gastronomic menu was created by the Caribbean chefs of Toques Français, in collaboration with Ludovic Bonneville, executive chef of the prestigious Maison de l’Amérique Latine restaurant.

An exclusive Caribbean art exhibition curated by PopCaribe was open throughout Caribbean Culinary Week, hosted by the Les Îles Art Gallery and featuring the works of Dominican artist Yermine Richardson.

Other notable events included rum masterclasses at Café Sigmund at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine, followed by an Ambassadors’ Dinner on June 5, which brought together members of the diplomatic and business communities involved in the Caribbean.

During the evening, Helena R. Compper, Vice President of the CCCE and founder of Maison La Cure, presented a preview of an innovative project, the Global Healing Hotel Collection, a new concept in wellness hospitality and sensory retreats, incorporating Maison La Cure’s high-quality aromatherapy elixirs. This exclusive vibrational healing technology is derived from emotional neuroscience and overseas ethnobotany.

Jo Spalburg, Secretary General and Executive Director of the CCCE, expressed his enthusiasm for this collaboration with La Maison de l’Amérique Latine: « We are delighted to collaborate with this historic Parisian institution to launch Caribbean Days in France. »

He emphasized that this initiative is in line with the CCCE’s mission to increase the visibility of the Caribbean in Europe: « Our Caribbean Culinary Week allowed local, regional, and international visitors to the culinary capital of the world to discover the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean through our exceptional gastronomy, art, and high-quality offerings. »

For this event, the CCCE’s partners included those who supported the first edition of Caribbean Days in Paris: Galerie d’Art Les Îles, La Maison Angostura, Maison La Cure 1925, La Corbeille à Confiture, and HJT Tax.

This event brought together prominent figures from the diplomatic, economic, cultural, and artistic worlds.
Three objectives were highlighted: the promotion of the luxury industry, European players with Afro-Caribbean talents, and pioneers of sustainable luxury and new models of care and hospitality.
