Prix de Diane Longines: the symbol of elegance, horses, and dreams

176ème édition du Prix de Diane Longines

The Prix de Diane Longines took place this Sunday, June 15, 2025.

This Sunday, June 15, 2025, the eyes of enthusiasts were riveted on the most creative entrants to participate in the Prix de Diane Longines at the Chantilly racecourse. The 176th edition of this horse race represents the pinnacle of elegance during the equestrian season. It offers spectators a timeless experience. Magic and grandeur meet in an enchanting setting. The perfect embodiment of grace, prestige, and emotion in unison.

A waking dream for image hunters, facing the unique setting of the Château des Princes de Condé. Entertainment continued throughout the day: on the track, in the heart of the village festivities, and during the highly anticipated Concours d’Élégance. Like every year at this time, the Prix de Diane Longines, a France Galop event, invites you to discover, experience, and celebrate a tradition that transcends generations and continues to fascinate.

The theme of the 176th edition of the Prix de Diane, held this Sunday at the Chantilly racecourse, was a day like any other since 1843, dedicated to elegance and equestrian sport. This event brings together on average tens of thousands of people, spectators and visitors, who come—wearing their magnificent hats—to picnic on the lush lawns of the racecourse, a few hundred meters from the Château de Chantilly.

The organizer, France Galop, once again dreamed of a grand and majestic setting. In the heart of the Chantilly racecourse, the Village Diane offered the public gourmet spaces. Some were able to share a refined lunch with a menu from the famous Parisian caterer Ladurée. The icing on the cake: a vintage Ferris wheel offering a unique view of the racecourse.

Contested over a distance of 2,100 meters, this race features the best young French and European 3-year-old fillies. Last season, victory went to Sparkling Plenty, driven by Tony Piccone. As usual, the Concours d’Elégance des Femmes Chapeautées (Hatted Ladies’ Elegance Competition) takes place alongside the horse race.

The Prix de Diane race began at 4:00 p.m., followed by the crowning of the Concours d’Elégance winner at 5:30 p.m. The « Les Folies de Diane » area closed the day from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with an electro atmosphere featuring DJ sets and an after-party that transformed the racecourse into an open-air dance floor.

Riding Christophe Soumillon, Gezora delivered a resounding victory to her entourage at the 176th edition of the Prix de Diane Longines, this Sunday, June 15th at the Chantilly racecourse.

Belgian Christophe Soumillon claimed a resounding victory this Sunday, June 15th, in the 176th edition of the Prix de Diane Longines, the major race for three-year-old fillies. Gezora beat Bedtime Story, who took second place, and Cankoura in third. Mandanaba, the highly anticipated filly, had to settle for fourth place. The No. 1 and No. 2 finishers completed the top five.

Francis-Henri Graffard thus placed his three charges in the top four, which is a real feat. The French trainer already has three Group 1 races lined up in 2025, following the Emirates Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (Zarigana) and the Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (Candelari).

The Prix de Diane, sponsored by the Swiss watch brand Longines, the traditional gathering of sport and elegance, with many spectators wearing sometimes extravagant hats, celebrated its 176th edition with twelve royal fillies. These long-legged, silky-coated thoroughbreds are also formidable warriors ready to add their names to the list of winners of this legendary race, which boasts a prize of one million euros, including 571,400 awarded to the new Princess of Chantilly, Gezora.
