The LGBTQIA+ community has demonstrated against the power of the extreme right

This April 26, hundreds of people have made an appointment of the nation in Paris to celebrate the International Lesbian Visibility Day.

The accession to the presidency of the United States of Donald Trump, and with him, with a whole caste of billionaires with a quick arm to tend, marks the return to the light of an assertive political project: which is also that of AFD in Germany, RN in France, from Orbán to Hungary or Meloni in Italy. Wherever we leave it the possibility, the extreme right eradicates the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and applies its racist policies. In his company project, no place for Queers love, nor for dissident gender identities.

This pride march takes place in a context of fighting the rise of extreme right ideas around the world. In Italy, the law of lesbians is in danger: within the framework of adoptions and PMAs, the second mother has not been recognized as such since March 2024.

On the side of Hungary, Parliament adopted, on March 18, a law prohibiting the Budapest Pride, the largest demonstration in support of LGBT + rights in the country. In the United Kingdom, the Supreme Court has just excluded transgender women from the legal definition of the term « woman » in April 2025.

Among the main points taught are equality and prevention to discrimination, especially because of its skin color or orientation. “A reactionary wave wants this program not to see the light of day. But this teaching is important: if we want to bring down discrimination and ensure that our society is feminist, we must give ourselves the means.  »

We refuse to serve him in anything; We refuse to be instrumentalized, as tried to do the Israeli government to justify the genocide of the Palestinian people. Yet LGBTQIAPHOBES policies are the far right brand in Israel and elsewhere.

Moral panics about the school paint LGBTQIA+people, especially trans, as dangers for children – a common foundation, but deeply dangerous for our communities in France.

Discrimination in housing and employment helps to prepare us a little more, while the economic crisis has hit all the working classes hard. Trans are systematically excluded from reproductive rights laws.

The macronist obsession for the birth rate in the avowed aim of economically straightening the country, widely shared by the extreme right, has turned to « demographic rearmament »: they are no longer just workers in the service of capitalism and « civilization », but above all soldiers that are asked to provide the nation.

Conservative forces are already at work, in the political field, particularly in the government and in the media and cultural field. They are financed by a fringe of large fundamentalist patterns, first of all of which Vincent Bolloré and Pierre-Édouard Sterin, like their American counterpart Elon Musk.

We demand the end of colonialist policies, Islamophobes, putophobic, validists and transphobes. Faced with migrant hunting, opening of borders. Faced with the disengagement of the State, financing of public services. Faced with the abolition of the soul, free access to the care for all. Faced with the reactionary push to school, education in consent, genres and sexualities.

This Saturday, April 26 and beyond, let’s celebrate lesbian, Afrolesbian and translesbian pride, joining the fight against the extreme right and anti-social policies.
