Odysséa: all united this weekend in Vincennes against breast cancer

The charity event, whose reference race will take place on Sunday, will begin on Saturday at the Château de Vincennes with various activities.

The charity event, whose reference race will take place on Sunday, will begin on Saturday at the Château de Vincennes with various activities. The sole goal of these two days, as always, will be to raise as much funds as possible.

The Odyssey race takes place at the Château de Vincennes on September 30 and October 1, 2023, for the launch of the Pink October campaign. The profits will be donated to the Gustave Roussy Institute, a research center.

In 2021, more than 500,000 euros were raised thanks to registrations as well as various donations (from participants and sponsors). In 2022, 221,816 kilometers were covered by all these supportive athletes, and 640,000 euros were collected for cancer research. This year, the goal is set at 270,000 kilometers.

Saturday, on the program a solidarity zumba, a kilometer run reserved for children “I run for Mom”, as well as a 5 km untimed solidarity walk (from five years old). Sunday, after the timed 10 km (which will start at 9 a.m.), we will also find the untimed 5 km at 11 a.m., both running and walking.

In October 2023, we combine sport and good deed by participating in a race to benefit the fight against breast cancer! For its 22nd edition, Odysséa, the race against breast cancer, takes place on Saturday September 30 and Sunday October 1, 2023 at the Château de Vincennes. For more than 20 years, Odysséa has raised more than 10 million euros for the benefit of the Gustave Roussy research institute, the leading European center in the fight against cancer.

Odysséa was born from the desire of three women who had, and still have at heart, to act immediately in favor of the fight against breast cancer. Odyssé created its first edition in Paris in 2002, bringing together 1,000 women at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

Frédérique Quentin and Frédérique Jules decide to create a solidarity sporting challenge against breast cancer: this is the beginning of the Odysséa adventure. These high-level athletes, who were part of the French athletics team, and this sports physiotherapist, also a former athlete, were quickly joined by Anne Bergougnoux, who has now led the association for 22 years. The three musketeers remain fighters in the search for breast cancer for every woman, since every year 59,000 women are new victims of breast cancer in France.

The Paris date brings together between 30 and 40,000 people each year. “If each race is unique, they all carry the Odysséa DNA: commitment, sharing, energy and hope. Essential values to fight against disease,” says Anne Bergougnoux.

This year, three sports races will be organized to benefit funds intended for breast cancer research.

– October 8 in Châteaubriant;
– October 22 in Cannes;
– November 4 and 5 at Réunion, remember to register to participate.

However, it is still possible to make a donation, or to buy the products offered at the Odysséa Boutique, to remain supportive even if you can no longer participate in this year’s race.
