French President Emmanuel Macron has invited scientists and leaders from around a hundred countries to meet in Paris until February 11 for the AI Action Summit.
Like Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron called on Sunday for a common strategy to regulate AI.
The Canadian Prime Minister believes that new technologies should particularly serve small and medium-sized businesses.
Justin Trudeau stressed on Sunday the importance, according to him, of innovating through artificial intelligence (AI) while ensuring that it is done ethically.
Since February 6, Paris has hosted more than 100 events organized on the sidelines of the summit for a week aimed at strengthening international action in favor of AI serving the general interest: scientific days, a cultural weekend, numerous parallel events, a day for businesses.
According to the Elysée, during this AI week, France will welcome thousands of players from the sector from nearly 100 countries and regions, including 1,500 participants in the international summit organized at the Grand Palais.
On the eve of the opening of the summit, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke on France 2 on Sunday evening about the « major challenges of AI ». He announced 109 billion of investments in France « in the coming years » in AI.
