The Saison France–Roumanie 2019, controlled by the French Institute, began this Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in France, to be prolonged in spring in Romania.
Its objective is to show and reinforce the links between the two countries, to see on the French poster, Édith Piaf in the arms of the count Dracula. On that of Romania, Napoleon at the sides of Maria Tanase, popular singer in the country. Both are marked same: “Forget your stereotypes”.
This Tuesday, the Head of the State and his wife Brigitte Macron received in Paris the president of Romania, Klaus Iohannis and his wife Carmen, at the time of the opening of the cross season France–Romania.
The French and Rumanian presidents then launched the cultural season free–Rumanian crossing. “It is the first cross season which France organizes with a country of the European Union”, explained Emmanuel Macron at the time of a short speech. In addition “this cross season will coincide with the first Rumanian presidency of the Council of the European Union of the first half of 2019” which “will be marked by major stakes: European elections and renewal of the European institutions which will result from this, Brexit, the roadmap of the future of Europe”, he added.
Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron accompanied by Klaus and Carmen Iohannis, found themselves in the Center Georges Pompidou in the 4th district of Paris. They sauntered in “gallery zero” where works of Rumanian artists were exposed, in particular the sculptor Constantin Brancusi, Serban Savu and Ciprian Murucian.
In 1904, Brancusi leaves Romania in the direction of Paris and, according to the legend, makes the way on foot, via Budapest, Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Basle… In Paris, to earn a living, he works like plunger at the Chartier restaurant then at Gob. He enters to the School of the Art schools the workshop of the sculptor Antonin Mercié in 1905.
In 1928, Brancusi takes part in the French Art exhibition contemporary with the Western National Art Museum of Moscow, exposure presented then to Leningrad. The decision of the court in the lawsuit against the United States is favorable for him.
In 1930, Brancusi rents a joint workshop with the n° 9, impasse Ronsin. At the end of September, he travels to Romania in the hope of concretizing the realization of a monument in Bucharest. In 1931, it meets the Maharajah d‘ Indore. The project of the Temple of the Delivery in India occurs. In 1933, the second exposure of Brancusi to Brummer Gallery obtains a great public success. In 1935, the National league of the women of the department of Gorj places to him order of the monument of Târgu Jiu.
In 1936, it takes part in the exposure Cubism and Abstract Art to the Museum of Modern Art de New York. He works on the project of the temple in India. He occupies a fourth workshop Ronsin dead end. In 1937, between France and Romania, Brancusi works with the project of Târgu Jiu.
In 1938, he travels to India. It is the completion of the project for the Maharajah d‘ Indore. It is also the unveiling of the monument of Târgu Jiu.
In 1939, Brancusi makes its last journey to the United States and attends the varnishing of the exposure Art in our Time, with the Museum of Modern Article A Chicago, it projects to carry out a “stainless steel Column” height of a skyscraper.
In 1940-1944, it acquires a last workshop. It takes part in some exhibitions, in particular in the United States. In 1946, the National Modern Art Museum buys three sculptures to him: “The Cock”, 1935, “the Seal”, 1943, and “the deadened Muse”, 1910.
In April 1956, Brancusi bequeaths its workshop, with all that it contains, at the French State. In December, its first personal exposure is organized in Europe, in Bucharest.
“Simplicity is not a goal in art, but one arrives at simplicity in spite of oneself of approaching the real direction of the things,” Constantin Brancusi.
Today the two couples were found vis–a–vis virtual realities between the simple and cosmic space of Brancusi.
“the DNA of Saison France–Roumanie, it is Europe, the francophonie, and a glance towards the future of our bilateral relation and the place of what couple free–Rumanian in Europe has to say,” Jean–Jacques Garnier, the general police chief for the French part of the season summarizes.
“There are so much stereotypes, and a true ignorance between these two countries. But it should not be forgotten that 25% of the Roumanians practise the language of Molière speak or write French, and that 75% of the pupils learn French until into final,” adds it.
The cultural season, continuation of events crossed between the two countries, will be completed in Romania on July 14th, 2019.
The table of silence, the alley of the chairs, the door of the kiss and the infinite column are elements of a modern sanctuary intended to glorify “the memory of the heroes who sacrificed themselves in the war of the achievement”. “The way of the hearts of the hero”, as calls it Brâncuși, together monumental inaugurated on October 27th, 1938, will be transformed by a futuristic project, the only Rumanian architect whose works appear in the atlas of world architecture.
After the Great War, Brancusi wanted to be able to lead a memorial for the “heroes” to Pestisani close to its village, Hobita.
In April 2007 in Targu–Jiu it was revealed a document indicating the will to include the monumental Whole of the Union, “the heroes”, in the European cultural heritage (with the Palace Cantacuzène, Rumanian Athenaeum in Bucharest and Constanta County Histria).
The two couples have understood why the Center Georges Pompidou regarded these works of Brancusi as a step between the two countries.
