The Pride march without a tank is a first in Paris

Several thousand people gathered this Saturday in Paris on the occasion of the pride march dedicated, this year, to the fight against « violence for all ».

This year, after 45 years of Gay Pride in Paris, the LGBT+ community marched through the streets without having floats.

For the first time, the « gay pride », as it is nicknamed, took place without a float, for ecological and security reasons. What give a new perspective to the event, with a less cluttered vision, and offer a new point of view.

Elisa Koubi, co-president of Inter-LGBT, which organized the parade, had previously explained to Agence France presse (AFP) that « marriage for all put an end to inequality but did not restore all LGBT + in France equal and serene”.

Designed in a logic of « eco-responsibility », the event included a small electric train, and above all a noria of cargo bikes and other tuk-tuks to carry banners and loudspeakers for music.

The demonstration is generally a means of conveying messages of peace and the fight against discrimination.

Even if the messages are transmitted, regardless of where you live, there are always people who discriminate and are homophobic.
At school, at work, on the street or even on vacation, there is harassment, sexual discrimination or homophobia.

The watchword of this new edition was to fight against « violence for all ». At midday, six young men were arrested in Paris for attacking a woman who, with a rainbow flag in her hand, was joining the pride march, we learned from a source. policewoman. They pushed her around and made homophobic remarks. All are minors and one of them is known to belong to the ultra-right movement, the same source added.

The march ended in Republiq Square, where a concert stage was set up to celebrate the event until 10 p.m.
