3 AWARDS FOR THE FICTION “2 WOMEN” AT THE FESTIVAL DE LUCHON

After a 100% digital edition last year, the 24th edition of the Luchon TV Festival took place from February 7 to 13, 2022.

Among the novelties of the year, the “Prix de l’Interprétation pour un duo”. and a large number of innovations under the aegis of the festival’s founder, Christian Cappe, president of the Union Francophone.

The 2022 edition presented no less than sixty fictions from France, Europe and French-speaking countries, rewarding nearly fifteen works. The prizes were awarded in several categories: Fiction; Documentary and Spanish Fiction. The prizes awarded by the public were voted on in the hall. they concerned single fiction, fiction series, short programs and web series.

For 6 days, we were able to attend the projection of works, debates on social issues such as feminicides, disability or Cyber ​​harassment and new conferences on the format of the program “Les Dossiers de l’Ecran” , as well as professional meetings with plenary sessions, workshops and seminars behind closed doors to work together and create more added, economic and societal value in the audiovisual industry.

The opening and closing ceremonies

During the opening ceremony on February 9, the author and actress Nathalie Corré was the mistress of ceremonies. The TV movie “Mis à nu” by Didier Bivel was screened.

The 11 documentary jury and public prizes were awarded on the 10th day of the 3rd Climate and Environment Day organized by the festival where the explorer and psychiatrist, Bertrand Piccard (Solar Impulse Foundation) and the navigator Yvan Bourgnon (The SeaCleaners) were present.

The presentation of the 17 Jury Fiction and Audience awards took place on the 12th at the same time as a tribute to actor André Dussolier and the closing ceremony of the festival.

In addition, the Luchon TV Festival offered a special program with the screening of 4 episodes of the “Dix sur Dix” series adapted in Turkey, India, England and Quebec.
Dominique Besnéhard hosted a program called “Les Grands Moments de la Télévision”, in partnership with the INA.
A tribute was paid to the actor, screenwriter and director Yves Rénier, who died in April 2021 at the age of 78, with the screening of the soap opera “Illusions perdus” (1966) by Maurice Cazeneuve.
Middle school and high school students were able to take advantage of the actions of the department and the Occitanie region.

Fiction category winners

Actress, director and screenwriter Coline Serreau chaired the Fiction jury composed of Nadège Beausson-Daigne, Jérémy Banster, Valérie Karsenti, Marine Delterme and Sara Mortensen as well as screenwriter Vincent Poymiro, composer Bruno Coulais and producer Moulay Ahmed Belghiti.

Big winner of this edition, the fiction “Deux Femmes” which won “Pyrenean Excellence for Unitary Fiction”, the “Prix d’Interpretation pour un duet” for Odile Vuillemin and Agathe Bonitzer for “Deux femmes” and the ” Director’s Award “for Isabelle Doval.

A second pair won the “Duo interpretation prize”: Julie de Bona and Julien Boisselier for the unitary “Laying bare”, the ordeal of a woman victim of revenge-porn.

Regarding the documentary jury, it was chaired by journalist Mireille Dumas and made up of director and artistic director Patrick Favre, actress, screenwriter and director Stéphanie Pillonca and actress and TV host Eglantine Eméyé.

Producer Jordi B Oliva was the president of the Spanish Fiction jury, made up of actress Maggie Civantos, actress Yolanda Ramos and actor Unax Ugalde.

The Jury and Public prizes for the Spanish competition were awarded on February 8.

“Two women”, a true story

“Two Women is a TV movie inspired by a case that hit the headlines in the 1960s, the Monique Case case. It tells the story of a woman accused of murder and saved from a death sentence by a judge We witness the meeting of 2 women who are opposites but also victims of the feminine condition of this time.

We are in 1965, Monique (Colette in the fiction) is a woman with liberated morals.
After the discovery of the body of Georges Segretin, office manager at Société Générale, charred in his 2CV at a place called “Le Bois bleu” in the Cher.
The investigation very quickly turned to a shopkeeper in La Guerche-sur-l’Aubois, who was accused of the murder with the complicity of a policeman in charge of the Jules Barrault investigation.
The media nicknamed her “Monique the diabolical” and despite the relentlessness of the investigators, some questioned her guilt.

Risking the guillotine, she is condemned to the assizes but will only be detained for 43 days following the intervention of judge Chouvelon (Anne-Marie in the film) who establishes her innocence by a counter-investigation, fighting against machismo and judicial hierarchy of the time.
A year later, the real assassin, Ernest Rodrigues, was arrested and sentenced to forced labor for life.

The screening of this film was scheduled for A2 on September 6, 2021, but following the death of Jean-Paul Belmondo, it was postponed to February 28, 2022.
