World walk against the endométriose

Like each year, a world walk to inform the women and to make move back the endométriose was held Saturday, March 24.

20% of the women would be reached by this chronic disease. Painful rules and lesions causing in 30 to 40% of the cases an infertility, this is why a walk a year against the endométriose has been organized for 5 years in about sixty countries approximately at the same date.

Saturday, March 24, associations ENDOmind and My Endométriose, My Suffering organized two events in the Hexagon, in Paris as of 10:00 Town hall of 15th with the singer Imany like Nathalie Clary, president d Endomind and in Marseilles at 30 quai d’Honneur 13:00 where one found head of the procession the 37 year old actress Laetitia Millot (more beautiful life), who revealed with the public to suffer from endométriose, this chronic disease which makes difficult and sometimes impossible to fall pregnant, a true miracle for the latter which soon will be mom of a little girl.

In Overseas, steps were also envisaged by local associations (In Guadeloupe, Karukéra endométriose was to PointwithClown; in Martinique Madin endogirls at 9:00 in front of the prefecture of Fort de France; in Guyana various associations met in 8:00 the Buzaré Point in Cayenne and to Réunion it appointment was given to 14:00 beach of the Hermitage)

The goal of this mobilization is to make known this chronic disease with the general public, to allow the patients as with the doctors to have information because the endométriose underis diagnosed, but also to alert the authorities of health on the importance of this disease which reaches the uterine mucous membrane and which makes develop the endometer apart from its cavity. Programmed to bleed every month, these fabrics, which develop apart from the uterus, pains and disorders of the gynaecological, urinary and digestive systems cause for the most widespread cases.

The principal symptom of the endométriose is the pelvic pain, which appears at the time of the rules or the sexual intercourses. However, at some patient, the disease can be asymptomatic and not generate any pain.

When the disease develops, the endometer (fabrics papering the uterus) leaves the uterus and will cause lesions on the peripheral bodies which are the ovaries, the vagina, the intestine or the abdominal wall.

The treatment of the endométriose is hormonal and aims at blocking the rules. Besides pathology tends to cure itself in the ménopausées patients.

To date, this disease touches 180 million women in the world and cannot be cured. In France, the estimates evaluate between two and four million touched women. No epidemiological study was made in spite of a strong prevalence, the delay of diagnosis is on average 6 years, but it is also due to the fact that the disease takes several forms and that it is difficult to generalize.

In the Antilles, forms much more serious of the disease were listed; for some, the environment and the use of the pesticides would be at the base of this endocrinal disturbance.

Currently, information and the training of the doctors relative to this problem are less, this is why some of them decided to specialize by themselves.
