After a long winter break, Stade Toulousain Women returned to Elite 1 rugby in spectacular fashion. On Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Stade Arnauné, the French vice-champions crushed Montpellier Hérault Rugby with a convincing 45-7 victory, a one-sided match that reaffirmed their title ambitions.
From the first whistle, Toulouse controlled the game with strong scrums, perfect set pieces, and aggressive defense. Montpellier managed to score a try just before halftime, but could never truly challenge their opponents. In the second half, Toulouse extended their lead, securing a deserved bonus-point win and showcasing their dominant form after the winter break.
The match took place on a neutral venue, which did not hinder the home side. Toulouse manager Olivier Marin praised the team’s effort: “We managed our return after the break very well and showed great enthusiasm, though we need to maintain consistency in the scoring zones.”
This victory positions Stade Toulousain Women strongly for the remainder of the Elite 1 season. Montpellier faces a tough challenge in their next match at Lyon and will need to regroup quickly to remain in contention for the playoffs.
