The 76 edition of the Cannes Film Festival unveils the list of participating films

The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 16 to 28 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 16 to 28 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
Ruben Östlund, president of the Festival jury will open the event and close it by awarding the Palme d’Or. They will decide between the films in competition in the 7 categories proposed: Official selection for the Palme d’Or (21); Selection “Un Certain Regard” (19); Cannes Premiere Selection (7); Films Out of Competition (6); Midnight Sessions (5); Special sessions (7); Short film (1).

SHORT FILM

1.DAUGHTER OF FIRE by Pedro COSTA

Pixar Studios are back at the Cannes Film Festival for the 76th edition. They present “Elementary” on May 27 for the closing. This feature film is presented out of competition in preview and will be released in theaters on June 16 in the United States and June 21 in France. Directed by Korean-American Peter Sohn with the voices of Leah Lewis and Mamadou Afthie, “Elementary” is produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios. The story is inspired by the 4 natural elements (fire, air, water and earth) which mix or not, which makes one wonder if they are not alive.
