Oupette is the star of the 61st edition of the International Agricultural Show, which takes place from February 22 to March 2, 2025 at Paris Porte de Versailles.
Her breeder, Alexandre Humeau, it is a great pride, but also a real mark of recognition of his work, is of the Limousine breed, of Oupette.
Oupette is 6 years old, is a worthy representative of the Limousine breed, a rustic bovine breed, of which she has all the attributes: an imposing size, a beautiful uniform coat of bright wheat to pale red color and lighter halos around the eyes and muzzle. On the other hand, do not look for her horns: she does not have any!
Indeed, among Limousines, some are born with horns, others without. Oupette is part of this second category. She does, however, have a small, instantly recognizable tuft on her head, which gave her her name and made her the farm’s mascot.
In 2022, Alexandre Humeau took over part of the family farm, which originally belonged to his grandparents, then to his father and uncles. Today, his farm covers a total of 430 hectares, half of which are meadows. The cows graze there from mid-March to November. He works with an employee and an apprentice, and regularly welcomes interns, some of whom do not come from a farming background.
After Oreillette and Ovalie, it’s time for Oupette. The new cow, the face of the Salon de l’agriculture, is already the star of the 2025 edition, which is currently being held at the Porte de Versailles exhibition center in Paris from February 22 to March 2.
In Hall 1, Oupette and her little puff have their own souvenir stand.
There are some great classics: badge, magnet, pen, notebook, water bottle and mug, but also a children’s t-shirt and a baby bodysuit. There is even a headband imitating her rebellious locks, renamed for the occasion « sertoupette ».
In addition to these derivative objects highlighted by the French Limousin breed and its breeder Alexandre Humeau, Oupette is also plastered on the goodies of the official shop of the Salon de l’agriculture. This year, two new limited edition items are available: Oupette socks and the moo box.
The new muse of the Show shares the stand with her calf, to show us how popular she is and how wonderful her breed is, but also her little puff on her head.
