Omnivore 2020: the other look at the kitchen

We owe it fifteen years ago to a creative, committed and responsible human idea. Visionary activists wanted to revolutionize and shake up the world of gastronomy via an offbeat international culinary gathering to challenge, question, convince, mobilize, share and innovate.

This is the vocation of the avant-garde Omnivore festival, whose success continues to grow.

This year, on the occasion of its anniversary, the opus 2020 changes format and location. Goodbye the Maison de la Mutualité. Head to the Bois de Vincennes to settle in the Parc Floral (Paris 12th century). Indisputable scene of gastronomy, it will be more than ever a question of the daily life of chefs in their commitment and their (re) definition of gastronomy in times of crisis. “Nobody expected the crisis that we have just – and are still going through – to go through, but I see in the intervention of the young leaders on the front line of solidarity and reflection as evidence of the values of a a certain vision that Omnivore has had since its inception, ”notes Romain Raimbault, new director since September 2019 of this unique and extraordinary event.

For four days, the best of the best, the crème de la crème of 100% young global cuisine will be gathered. 60 exhibitors and partners, 16 Street Food chefs, 150 guests from brands from big names in inventive gastronomy, agriculture, bar, business and catering will bring their experience and their perspective to better think and better build the kitchen of tomorrow. “Yes, cooking can change the world if it opens up to the big questions that cross it,” says Ramin Raimbault. And that goes through the environment, education and even digital.

So what will be on the festivities menu? An XXL choice made up of master classes, conferences, debates, workshops, demonstrations, tastings, private dinners with several aprons, entertainment, all orchestrated in a friendly and festive atmosphere punctuated by the sound of stoves and spatulas. Essentially aimed until now at professionals, the festival opens its doors to the general public who will be able this year to enjoy an open outdoor stage installed on the esplanade of the Parc Floral as well as a musical program.

With such a menu, Omnivore will undoubtedly be the great culinary rendezvous of the fall not to be missed and hopped from September 11 to 13 by the presence alongside the best food craftsmen, those of beers.
