Paris, the Light of Modern Art: An Immersive Journey into the Moderne Art Fair 2025

Under the luminous pavilions of Place de la Concorde, Moderne Art Fair 2025 brings together over 60 international galleries to showcase modern and contemporary art, photography and design — a must for collectors and art lovers.

Under a pale autumn sky, Place de la Concorde has transformed into an ephemeral temple dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
Since October 23, luminous, curved pavilions have been hosting the new edition of the Moderne Art Fair — an event where art, design, and human emotion intertwine.

The air carries a unique blend: the scent of Italian coffee from nearby stands, the discreet murmur of collectors, and that subtle tension particular to major art fairs — somewhere between discovery and transaction.

“Everything happens in seconds — an emotion, a sale, a connection,” confides a gallerist from Brussels, her eyes lost in the golden reflections of an abstract canvas.

An Architecture Designed for the Eye

From the entrance, the scenography captures attention.
Two wide, parallel aisles stretch like luminous arteries, where natural light bounces off chrome frames.
This year, organizers aimed for a more fluid experience: fewer walls, more perspectives, and double the central pathway to ease the visitor’s flow.

Over sixty galleries from Paris, London, Milan, and Seoul converge here, forming a continuous ballet of curious visitors, experts, and emerging artists.
Painting meets sculpture; design converses with photography — a visual symphony where contrast is king.

Mathias Kiss, the Guest of Honor Who Blurs Boundaries

At the heart of the main pavilion, French multidisciplinary artist Mathias Kiss commands attention.
His installation, “Reflections of Another Time”, questions the relationship between space and memory: distorted mirrors, suspended gilded moldings, fragments of classical architecture floating in a dreamlike atmosphere.

“I want the viewer to see themselves without recognizing themselves,” Kiss explains, dressed in black, surrounded by a silent circle of captivated visitors.

His work becomes a metaphor for the entire fair — a dialogue between past and present, craftsmanship and creative freedom.

Art, the Crowd, and the Murmur of the Market

The soundscape is constant yet refined: soft footsteps on carpet, low murmurs of conversation, the clinking of champagne glasses during a discreet vernissage.
An American collector raises his phone to capture a monumental photographic installation — a triptych of black-and-white faces exploring migration and identity.

This year, photography and memory dominate the fair’s narrative.
Artists such as Sonia Marin and Lucas Blanchard explore the fragility of remembrance through light, blur, and layering.
Every stand tells a story; every artwork a fragment of humanity.

“Contemporary art mirrors our anxieties and our beauty,” whispers an Italian art critic, notebook in hand.
“And Paris, more than ever, is its beating heart.”

Paris, the Rediscovered Capital of Art

Beyond the fairgrounds, the entire city vibrates with creativity.
Marais galleries host special night openings, museums extend their hours, and café terraces overflow with animated discussions on the latest artistic trends.
Between Moderne Art Fair and Paris+ by Art Basel, Paris firmly reclaims its place among the great capitals of modern and contemporary art.

As night falls over the Concorde, the pavilions glow with shades of rose and copper.
Visitors linger, hypnotized by the suspended beauty around them — leaving with the quiet feeling of having touched, if only for a moment, the very essence of creation.
