Toulouse Fashion Week
Toulouse Fashion Week (TFW) is organized by the Institut des Arts & de la Mode, a charitable association with disinterested management, aimed at supporting, promoting and financing young designers, couturiers or promising artists. The ticket office of the event finances this artistic fashion meeting in Toulouse.
In 2009, stylist Hayet Maoui launched her brand of evening dresses, unique and made-to-measure outfits, where rhinestones and sequins compete on chic and elegant creations. She is also artistic director for the organization of various fashion shows in France and abroad. Today, she directs Ma-Oui Créations.
Since its creation in 2019, Ma-Oui creations has participated in the TFW, where it has presented original models ranging from Algerian fashion to international fashion.
In 2020, the 3rd edition of TFW was placed under the theme “Eleganza, Extravaganza”, a parade of 17 designers from Italy, Poland, Russia, England, Uganda, Congo, Geneva, Cayenne Algeria, Laos , Niger and France.
Last year, the theme for the “All eyes on me” collection was “Wonderland”, a name taken from a title by rapper Tupac, of whom she is a big fan. It represented a “creative and wonderful” world where we found embroidery in the shape of eyes, key elements of the collection made up of buttons, rugs and other materials.
The 2022/2023 collection
This year, the designer bet on the recycling trend. This is how she used curtains and related trimmings (clip rings, pompoms…). an eco-responsible approach in this period of declining purchasing power.
The “Hype & Hope” collection means that it is at the forefront of fashion and gives us hope in this difficult time. It was divided into 3 parts and composed of 14 creations:
– The first part was marked by the color pink, it announced a flowery, light and embellished past thanks to organza fabrics, encrusted with flower petals.
– The second part included “total black” outfits with a few silver shards and made of fabrics showing the body through transparency. For the designer, it represents the last dark events and despair, a plunge into darkness. The silver touch leads to the last component, hope.
– The 3rd and last part represents hope. It means party, with the rhinestones that shine out of the dark. The last 2 models, which closed the parade, were made with curtains and a few accessories (loops, pompoms, etc.)
Talking about her “Hype & Hope” collection, Hayet Maoui says it’s the most exciting she’s done, but also the most consistent in her eyes.
