On Friday, October 17, 2025, Paris’s cultural scene gathered at the iconic Silencio Club to celebrate the long-awaited launch of George, a new cultural and artistic review whose first issue has been available in print since October 10.
More than a simple release, the evening marked the birth of a new space for ideas, images, and words — a publication that seeks to unite curiosity, elegance, and intellectual freedom.
A Print Review for the Pleasure of Reading and Seeing
In an era dominated by screens, George proudly embraces the timeless allure of print.
Its first issue is conceived as an object of art and reading — where text and image, reflection and emotion, coexist in perfect balance.
Printed on fine, textured paper, George brings together literary essays, interviews, portraits, and visual portfolios.
Every page feels deliberate, offering space to pause, to breathe, to think.
“We wanted to return to a physical relationship with culture — that moment when you turn a page with your hands, not swipe a screen,”
explained one of the founders during the launch evening.
Silencio – A Setting of Art and Mystery
Choosing Le Silencio, the private Paris club designed by filmmaker David Lynch, was no coincidence.
This hybrid venue — part gallery, part cinema, part lounge — perfectly embodied the spirit of George: a space where art and language intertwine.
Under the soft, golden light and subtle music, guests — writers, photographers, journalists, gallerists, and readers — discovered the freshly printed issue.
Conversations floated through the room: about the future of independent publishing, the beauty of print, and the urgency of creating free cultural spaces.
Giving Voice and Setting the Tone
Around 9 p.m., the editorial team took the stage to thank partners and readers, and to explain the philosophy behind George:
“George was born out of a desire for dialogue — between writing and image, between the present and memory, between the precision of words and the freedom of artistic gesture. This first issue is our promise: to remain curious, bold, and sincere.”
After a few live readings and applause, the evening shifted into celebration — music, laughter, and the joyful energy of beginnings.
Issue No. 1 – A Manifesto in Print
The first issue of George reads like a manifesto.
Editorially sharp and visually refined, it explores the connections between intimacy and society, memory and creation, art and thought.
It features exclusive texts, visual essays, and encounters with contemporary voices who shape the artistic landscape.
Every contribution asks the same underlying question:
What does it mean to create today?
With that, George places itself among the new generation of independent reviews that challenge conventions — sophisticated, reflective, and beautifully crafted.
A New Cultural Player to Watch
This launch event made one thing clear: George aims to be more than a magazine — it seeks to become a living cultural community, a space for exchange and inspiration.
With its refined aesthetics, creative freedom, and commitment to print, the review positions itself as both intellectual and sensory, modern yet timeless.
With its first issue released on October 10, 2025, and a launch event at Le Silencio a week later, George has made an elegant and confident debut on the French cultural scene.
Between art and literature, between form and thought, George already stands out as a publication with a voice — and a vision.
More than a magazine, it is an invitation: to read, to feel, and to see differently.
