Through a thematic journey of masterpieces by the painter Paul Cézanne, the “Atelier des Lumières” plunges the visitor into a vertiginous and playful creation. It is a living spectacle in which the observer walks among the images projected on the walls and the floor. In the middle of still lifes which are one of the great themes of Cézanne and multiple expressive compositions, we recognize the independence of the style of the artist.
Cézanne regularly returns to Provence, his native region, which he particularly likes. He finds serenity there and he paints a naturalness made of colorful landscapes, houses, peasants or even card players. Nature remains its reference through its relationship to light with models of trees, forests, bathers… It is a true ode to nature.
The Atelier des Lumières presents a double exhibition, an immersion in the work of the painter of Russian origin, Vassily Kandinsky. This Odyssey is a program of about ten minutes, through the great artistic stages of the founding artist of abstract art, in the 1900s. Dots of color, like stars twinkling in the night, are an invitation to travel in the universe of the artist.
These two exhibitions are to be discovered until January 2, 2023
