On December 14, 2021, Esteban de la Vega inaugurated his « Color Shot » exhibition, at the CAPIFRANCE studio agency, 15 rue de Turin (75008) in the presence of many guests and friends.
This exhibition follows that of Villa Auteuil in July 2020 and the one he organized in his workshop « Le Jardin des Couleurs » in July 2021, during an « Emotion Painting » tea party.
During the event at the CAPIFRANCE agency-workshop, our « Emotion Painter » took us into his colorful universe where spots, spirals and objects from our childhood mingle in swirls of color. Samples of all his collections were present and the artist was not stingy with explanations concerning them.
The Esteban de la Vega collections
They are 6 in number
ROMANTIC COLLECTION where the projections of paintings symbolize like « flower petals lying on a bed of flowers », on a silver background for example. We find the symbolism of romance through flowers or hearts, sensuality, emerging love …
CHILDREN’S COLLECTION so as not to forget the world of childhood One finds mainly scribbles of tubes of paint, equivalent to those made by children and characters like the « Play Mobil » (Chevalier Lancelot and Jack Parrow) or Asterix the Gaul . There is also the canvas which brings our memories up to date with video cassettes of the time such as « Clockwork Orange » or « Platini ».
GOURMET COLLECTION like this canvas that makes you think of macaroons, or pastries that you want to eat. It is « something very carnal, greedy and tangy » and « the gluttony that we have in us when we are children ». “We can’t resist!”.
INSPIRATION COLLECTION inspired by a trip to space or to the seabed. There is a vinyl, a little nod to singer Carlos.
ENERGETIC COLLECTION which represents the « forces of movement and the liveliness of colors. Everything that » boosts energy « . We have broad lines, » fluo « and iridescent tones. Looking at the canvases, » we have the smile and ‘want to start the day on the right foot’.
COLLECTION STREET or the revelation of the energy of the street, It is an exploratory collection where the artist has fun « with anything and everything ». It is based on recovery media such as a car door, a jerry can or a trunk. In this collection, is the last born, « Arthur Fox » the fox, Origami style and personalized by the artist. There is also « Color Buddah », « Body’s, the dog Romeo and the apple. There is also a canvas which » is not at all in his style « since it uses the technique of » pouring. » This involves using fluid acrylic that is poured into the middle of a canvas, leaving it to form a circle. The way you pour can achieve different results. This abstract art is an accumulation of cells of colored scales without the use of a brush.
Esteban also customizes « Air Force One » sneakers, according to your tastes and on order.
His technique
Esteban uses different kinds of paints, spray, acrylic or oil paint depending on the technique or texture of the painting.
All his works symbolize optimism through the colors he uses. The energy, love, desire and sensuality felt by Esteban stand out in each painting. In each of them, we perceive the desire to share this feeling. In each element of its collections, we find « something positive through movement ». He « uses emotions as the fuel of our life.
His latest achievement
A beautiful Christmas present that Esteban gave us with a new canvas that he has just finished in the « Romantic » collection and of course the order of Arthur Fox.
A few words about the history of Esteban de la Véga
Esteban de la Véga, whose real name is Christophe, started painting about 6 years ago. « Le Baiser de Rodin » inspired his imagination. His profession is finance, but at the same time he developed his taste for painting. Self-taught, he expresses what he feels and puts on the canvas what the childish world represents for him. « The One », his first work opens the way to a long series in different styles and themes.
His artist name, Esteban de la Véga comes from a mixture of a comic book character, Estéban, son of the sun in « Les Cités d’Or » and Don Diégo de la Véga (Zorro). For him, the two together represent light, childhood and justice.
The final word will be Esteban’s: « COLOR YOUR LIFE, COLOR THE WORLD ».
