The arrival of the film crew on the red carpet was a true moment of grace, between elegance and glamour, under the photographers’ flashes.

The Cannes Film Festival celebrates the diversity of cinema by showcasing exceptional genre films. Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In by Soi Cheang, presented during the midnight screening, promises a breathtaking martial arts spectacle straight from Hong Kong.

Adapted from the manhua City of Darkness by Andy Seto, Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In immerses us in the fascinating world of the Kowloon Citadel. The film features spectacular battles and a gripping plot.

Thierry Frémaux commented: “Midnight screenings are always a great way to welcome Cannes cinema, which a few years ago might have been thought to have no place in Cannes, but which actually does have its place.” For example, the Hong Kong film “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In”, by Soi Cheang, which is a Hong Kong brawler, a genre film which, like the other film “The Executioner”, by Seung Wan Ryoo, which is a Korean film, are two genre films which are also films by great directors. Cannes has never shunned genre cinema and has always thought that the great directors of detective films, swords and comedies were also great directors.

This highly anticipated film promises to be a masterpiece of the genre, mixing breathtaking action scenes with moments of deep emotion. Critics present at Cannes have already praised the performance of the actors and the quality of the direction.
