Paris pays tribute to the victims of November 13, nine years later

Nine years ago to the day, an attack by jihadist commandos in Paris and Saint-Denis plunged France into mourning, leaving more than 130 dead.

The Prime Minister and the Mayor of Paris attended a ceremony in front of the Bataclan. Earlier in the morning, Anne Hidalgo had also paid tribute to the victims in front of the Stade de France in Saint-Denis and in front of the terraces targeted by the terrorists in the capital.

On November 13, 2015, the terrorist attacks claimed the lives of 92 people in this concert hall in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. A minute of silence was observed and wreaths of flowers were laid in front of the entrance to the Bataclan. Michel Barnier and Anne Hidalgo then went to meet the survivors of the attack and their loved ones.

Another time of tribute and reflection was held at the town hall of the 11th arrondissement. An “intimate” ceremony, organized by the associations of victims of the November 13 attacks. The president of the Life for Paris association gave a speech on the theme of trust. “We are entering the tenth year of our life after November 13,” he commented, wishing to highlight the crossing of “these nine years together”.

Published at one o’clock in the morning this Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the new music video by Swiss artist Fox Kijang pays tribute to the victims of the Bataclan attack. A title that reflects the pain, emptiness and fragility felt by the singer at that time.

Fox Kijang, who was passing through to record music in the studio in the capital, witnessed the tragic events that year. His song “Ris pas”, an anagram of the city of lights, was written on a TGV the day after the attack and is intended as a poetic tribute to resilience, his own, as well as that of the grieving French men and women.
