An exceptional event took place on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 7 p.m., at the Cinéma Les 7 Parnassiens (98, Boulevard du Montparnasse, 75014 Paris).
The company Eye & Eye Productions and Julien DALLE, creator and director of the series, as well as Mrs. Aline ALIX, General Manager of CANAL+ Caraïbes – Océan Indien, were present at the Parisian preview of the new series WISH.
WISH Caribbean is a 100% Caribbean fiction series that immerses the viewer in the fascinating world of the local music industry, highlighting traditional music, zouk and urban rhythms. The ambitious and unifying project brings together Caribbean talents from diverse backgrounds, including Admiral T, Francky Vincent and renowned actors such as Maja Bloom and Firmine Richard.
This series pays tribute to all West Indian musicians. Julien DALLE is currently focusing on the direction, production and distribution of a series on the West Indian music industry of which he is the creator: WISH (West Indies Studios History).
He returns as producer and director on his first fiction series on the West Indian music industry, with WISH, the largest gathering of diverse artists (actors, singers, influencers, comedians) ever seen on screen, broadcast on November 20, 2024 on Canal+.
Originally from Guadeloupe, Julien Dalle was inspired very early on by his film-loving father who made him act in short films, and grew up with an 8mm camera in hand directing his loved ones. Engineer in physical engineering then graduated in marketing at ESSEC, it is at Sony that he worked 10 years from 2003 to 2013 in international marketing, where he multiplied partnerships with Hollywood and European studios.
A screenwriter member of the SACD, his writing work axis is around contemporary Creole ballads where he mixes Caribbean characters and universal narrative themes. This is how Retour au Pays, distributed in French-speaking Africa and widely distributed between 2010 and 2013 in several countries. On his return to Guadeloupe, he developed his production company Eye and Eye and in 2015 created ALMA (the Association of Antillo-Guyanese Feature Films) which restores and makes accessible forgotten films from the Caribbean heritage.
In 2019, after receiving the Audience Award at the Cinestar International Film Festival, his third feature film Secrets de famille with Firmine Richard and Cédric Ido, arrived in theaters nationwide, and started off strong in the West Indies with more than 18,000 spectators in theaters (8,000 in Guadeloupe, 10,000 in Martinique).
