The list of 14 ministers appointed to the government of Gabriel Attal

Emmanuel Macron wanted a tight team, it is now done. And this is moving to the right, a few months before the European elections.

The Secretary General of the Elysée, Alexis Kohler, unveiled the composition of the new government on Thursday evening.

The ministers of the new government formed by Gabriel Attal were announced Thursday evening. Among them, Stéphane Séjourné, secretary general of Renaissance, joined the Quai d’Orsay. The new Minister of Foreign Affairs has in the past been in a civil partnership with his Prime Minister. Which raises the question: how do you go about working with your ex who is also your boss?

In addition to the dazzling egos of the new and old members of the government, their love lives also risk shaking the walls in the Council of Ministers. Gabriel Attal has in fact appointed Stéphane Séjourné to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Prime Minister was in a civil partnership with his new head of French diplomacy, before their separation two years ago, confirmed by 20 Minutes.

Here is the list of ministers appointed by Emmanuel Macron, on the proposal of Prime Minister Gabriel Attal:

Among the list of new appointments, seven ministers retain their place, three others change ministries and four are newly appointed to their positions.

• Bruno Le Maire, Minister of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, keep the place.

• Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior and Overseas Territories, keep the place.

• Catherine Vautrin, recently appointed Minister of Labor, Health and Solidarity.

• Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Minister of National Education, Youth, Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Arriving in the government as Minister of Sports in May 2022, she is one of the figures in the organization of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. She therefore takes charge of a “super ministry” including National Education, Sports and the Olympics.

• Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, keep the place.

• Rachida Dati, recently appointed Minister of Culture.

• Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of the Armed Forces, keep the place.

• Eric Dupond-Moretti, Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice, keep the place.

• Stéphane Séjourné, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Attal’s recently appointed ex.

• Christophe Béchu, Minister of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, keep the place.

• Sylvie Retailleau, Minister of Higher Education and Research, keep the place.

• Prisca Thévenot, Minister Delegate for Democratic Renewal, government spokesperson. She left the post of Secretary of State for Youth and Universal National Service (SNU) in July 2023, during the last reshuffle.

• Marie Lebec, recently appointed Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament.

• Aurore Bergé, Minister Delegate in charge of Equality between Women and Men and the Fight against Discrimination.
