Paris Prize for LGBT Rights

Anne Hidalgo gave Thursday, May 17 first Paris Prize for LGBT Rights at the time of the world day of fight against the homophobia and the transphobie.

This price rewards a French Eawardwinning and international Eawardwinning chosen by a jury made up of a president, this year Edwin Cameron, judge of the Constitutional court of South Africa and eight French and international members representing the diversity of communities LGBTQI+:

These prices can be given to oneE militantE or with an association which is characterized by actions courageous and inspiring in favour of the equal rights.

With the approach of next the Gay Games which will be held in Paris at the beginning of August, it is important to show that Paris was an inclusive and tolerant city for all the people who still suffer from discrimination and see their rights violated because of their sexual orientation or their identity of kind.

For this first year, the price rewarded 3 people, 1 French (HandiQueer) and 2 foreigners (Gay National and Lesbian Human Rights Commission of Kenya, association which promotes and protects the equality and inclusion from the people and communities LGBTQ in Kenya) and Ameen Rhayem (Lebanese journalist militant near the Arab Foundation for Freedoms and the Equality.
