An excellent comedy, an effective duo. A psychiatrist, Jean-Emmanuel Vertoughuowenein, receives Karl-Etienne Gaufrin, who suffers from obsessional neurosis, in his office.

An excellent comedy, an effective duo.
A psychiatrist, Jean-Emmanuel Vertoughuowenein, receives Karl-Etienne Gaufrin, who suffers from obsessional neurosis, in his office.
The patient describes his symptoms, his obsession with order – he has to meticulously arrange his clothes, he has to systematically transcribe his slightest actions into a notebook, record the names in full, absolutely…
and he can’t help watching, insistently, without being able to take his eyes off … he watches … the asses …
We then witness a strange psychotherapy session which, little by little, becomes wacky and totally crazy.
Because the psychiatrist will also prove to be prey to ocds, so much so that the exchange between the patient and his therapist will turn into a burlesque and hilarious crossover of obsessions.
Misunderstandings ensue, the two accomplices challenge each other, a game of cat and mouse where we no longer know who is who, it is the one who says who is… the situation becomes more and more more tense… things will even end up getting out of hand…
Deceit or sincerity on the part of the psychiatrist? Therapeutic method or neurosis?
The patient, beside himself, will end up exclaiming: « But you are sicker than me! »
Is the author’s purpose to illustrate the clichés: « Psychologists are just as much, or even more, disturbed than their patients » or « The shrink heals you with a wave of a magic wand »?
The comical situations follow one another, the scathing repartee fuse … Finally, a twist, an unexpected outcome …

The piece was a great success at the Festival Off d’Avignon.
For its revival in Paris, Eric Delcourt produced a brilliant staging.
A great success also for the general press this Sunday, February 13 at the Théâtre de Dix heures.
Fluid acting, actors on top, the room conquered, thunderous applause.
Finally, all is well!
