Hundreds of people attended the ceremony on Thursday afternoon in honor of humorist Guy Bedos, who died on May 28 at the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris.
A large photo of the artist, dressed in a pink sweater, was displayed on one of the pillars of the church whose access, reserved for celebrities of the entertainment world, was protected by barriers due to the epidemic of coronavirus. The arrival of the coffin was greeted with applause and “thank you!” launched by the crowd, not very sensitive to the instructions of physical distance.
From the beginning of the ceremony, Guy Bedos’s voice, transmitted outside the church by loudspeakers, resonated. “I don’t want to be buried… I’d like to be bothered.” It was the beginning of a sketch captured at the Olympia.
The ceremony continued, mixing songs and lyrics from relatives and friends.
“My God, what have you got mad about it,” recalled Michel Boujenah, between two sobs.
The sobs in the voice, her friend Muriel Robin, close to the comedian’s family, greeted the memory of a man “nice, so kind”, whom she considered “a big brother”. “Guy you were that wonderful brother always ready to listen… With you I had a nephew and a niece. You gave me a huge gift by introducing me to Corsica. I hug you hard, your kindness and your beautiful look will miss us. Thank you and bravo,” she said, before shouting: “Well done, bravo, bravo!”
Among the celebrities present, several actors and actresses such as Jean-Paul Belmondo, the actors Fanny Ardant and Catherine Frot as well as the actors Pierre Richard, François Berléand, Alex Lutz and Benoit Magimel. Journalists Anne Sinclair, Mireille Dumas, Franz-Olivier Giesbert and Michel Drucker were also present, as were playwright Jean-Michel Ribes.
Former Minister Jack Lang and current Minister of Culture Frank Riester.
The president of Molières, producer Jean-Marc Dumontet, who did everything to save the ceremony, does not hide his joy, the evening promises to be also rich in emotions with a tribute to Guy Bedos, in the 32nd ceremony on June 23 .
