SINGRID CAMPION AND THE GYP’SINGS DID THEIR SHOW AT THE CIRQUE D’HIVER

Thursday, November 18, Singrid Campion presented his show “Liberta” at the Cirque d’hiver, accompanied by the Gyp’sings. Val and Iulius provided the first part. Lord Kossity and Negrita were the guests. This evening was also an opportunity to celebrate the birthday of his son Marcel Junior who was celebrating his 9th birthday.

All of Singrid Campion’s friends and fans were present to applaud her and discover the show “Liberta” before a European tour. The first dates will be in St Barth in February then in Guadeloupe in March 2023.

Who is Singrid Campion?

Born into a family of musicians, Singrid Campion is the daughter of the famous showman, Marcel Campion, baptized “the king of the showmen”, creator of the Fête des Tuileries, the Fête à Neuneu and of course the current Foire du Trône. It was in a caravan that the singer was born in the Jardin des Tuileries (75001) on July 27, 1976. She also launched “Zen Shop”, a brand of cosmetics based on CBD, (hemp), an online store has existed since the beginning of 2022 as well as a cd.

Singrid also created her own association linked to the “HDC Niglo” motorcycle club which has existed for 30 years, in which she paraded with her father. She also recustomized the logo, a little hedgehog (Niglo meaning hedgehog in gypsy language). In her clip “Free your life”, we see her marching among bikers.

Next, Alison’s Tales will be published. It is a series of stories for children told by Lauryne from Loft Story 2, also from the fairground world. A little lullaby will be sung by Singrid.

Singrid Campion performed in 2018 at the Olympia, on the stage of the Grand Rex and at the Théâtre de la Gaîté. She has made several albums including “Paris Mi Amor” which has 16 titles such as gypsy version covers (Billie Jean, la vie en rose…) or compositions (Paris scrolls, Live or Erase from my memory…) as well as only 2 songs performed with Sébastien El Chato. It was also in 2018 that she opposed the Paris City Hall alongside her father, a candidate for municipal elections in Paris. His song “Un pour tous, tous forains” is a rant against Anne Hidalgo who wants to prevent the installation of the Christmas market cabins at the bottom of the Champs Elysées.

The evening of November 18 was organized for the benefit of the association “Négrita, au Coeur des Anges”. All donations and proceeds from entries have been reversed to the association for children with cancer and disabilities.

This evening took place at the Cirque d’Hiver in the company of Négrita, a great representative of the emancipation of gypsy women in the world of travellers. but also founder of the association “Negrita in the heart of the Angels”. Lord Kossity interpreted a medley of his great hits (“Morenas”, “Ma Benz”, etc) and in duet with Singrid “Paris parades” The evening resumed with Val and Iulius, a duo of young artists, from a family of musicians for 6 generations.

For this show, Singrid was sent by 2 guitarists (Kema Ballardo, grandson of Manitas de Plata and soloist of Kenji, as well as Kael, guitarist and backup singer of Kenji), a drummer (Eric Laffont who accompanied Alain Souchon, Jane Birkin, Julien Clerc or even Nolwenn Leroy, a bassist (Benoît Dordolo who has accompanied Kenji since 2018) and a pianist (Frédéric Locarni for Yuri Buenaventura, Claude Barzotti, Papa…).

The choreographer, Claude Cormier, and his dancers (Djinay, daughter of Négrita as well as Mathilda Mané who played in the Zen Shop brand clip and the Free Your Life clip) and dancers evolved around the artist.
