The event benefited from a strong attendance of professionals, surpassing the figures for the 2023 edition.
For this 55th edition, space occupied a prominent place, as both those exhibiting at the Paris Space Hub and those who visited this vast space, which notably brought together the vibrant and creative players of the New Space sector, were able to observe.
A major new feature of this edition, the Paris Air Show is taking a new step forward with the launch of the Paris Space Hub, a 2,500 m² hall entirely dedicated to the space ecosystem. This new space will highlight the Franco-European sector and offer a rich program of conferences and debates around the major challenges of space. The Paris Space Hub will explore all the key issues: technological sovereignty, industrial innovation and competitiveness, connectivity and space data, operations in, to, and from space, and sustainable development.
The show stood out for its exceptional size: vast halls, chalets, static displays, and flight demonstrations delighted enthusiasts and professionals alike.
The event, compared by some to the scale of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, recorded an increase in the number of visitors to 305,200 unique visitors, 53% of whom were general public visitors.
This figure was higher than that of the 2023 edition thanks to professionals, but below the pre-health crisis level. The major biennial event for the aviation, space, and defense industries, north of Paris, attracted 305,200 unique visitors between June 16 and 22, its organizers announced in a press release Monday.
This figure represents the addition of 164,200 members of the general public, who attended from Friday to Sunday, and « 141,000 unique professional visitors, 38% of whom were international. » Two years earlier, the event attracted a total of 292,579 visitors, but more members of the general public than this year: 165,267, compared to 127,312 professionals.
While the energy transition in the aeronautics industry has been relegated to the background of the media scene, professionals and the general public alike were able to assess the progress of multiple projects and programs firsthand.
The 55th Paris Air Show in figures:
2.400 exhibitors from 48 countries, including 1,124 French
136 startups
332 chalets and 100% of the halls sold
70 hectares of exhibition space
155 aircraft presented and 173 flight demonstrations
141.000 unique trade visitors, including 38% international visitors
164.200 general public visitors
80 official civilian delegations representing 64 countries and 5 international organizations
174 official military delegations representing 77 countries and 5 international organizations
149 other French and international institutional delegations visited the show, including 20 from EU institutions and 3 from NATO
7.000 schoolchildren welcomed throughout the week on the Careers Plane.
Airbus dominated the announcements at Le Bourget, ahead of its competitor Boeing, which was forced to maintain a low profile following the fatal crash of an Air India 787 just days before the show’s opening. This 55th Paris Air Show was also marked by a new controversy over the presence of Israeli arms manufacturers. Several Israeli stands exhibiting « offensive weapons » were blocked by the French government, citing the « morally unacceptable » situation in Gaza, provoking anger in Israel.
Since its creation in 1909, the Paris Air Show has grown steadily to become the world’s largest event dedicated to the aeronautics and space industry.
The show is a privileged moment for any company: it is an opportunity to meet all the major players in the aeronautics and space industry, to seize new business opportunities, to showcase its expertise and innovations to the world, and to forge technological and industrial partnerships. The first four days of the Paris Air Show will be reserved for professionals, followed by three days open to the general public.
A program of flight demonstrations will take place each day at the Paris Air Show.
The next Paris Air Show will take place from June 14 to 20, 2027.
