« NAPO » at the Comédie Bastille – Paris

What if Napoleon woke up in 2026 and decided to run for president? “Napo”, now playing at Comédie Bastille in Paris, is a fast-paced political comedy blending boulevard theatre and contemporary satire. A refreshing and entertaining night out, running until June 17, 2026.

A firework display of cheeky jokes, boulevard comedy at its finest, and the kind of popular theatre audiences love — with no ambition other than to entertain while playfully addressing current issues.

Intellectuals, you’ve been warned!

At the Comédie Bastille, audiences laugh along — from high school students to grown-ups, anyone ready for a good time.

The Story

1815, Waterloo. During the battle, Napoleon Bonaparte supposedly dies in an explosion… only to wake up in 2026 in a France facing deep crisis.

Quickly adapting to the 21st century, “Napo” decides to run in the next presidential election. Realizing that certain expressions like “to smite” or “to ravish” are no longer politically appropriate, he must adjust to modern electoral expectations.

Ecology, gender equality, racism, democracy, violence — today’s key political concepts become fertile ground for hilarious misunderstandings.

If you come to see this play, it means you’ve kept your inner child alive. It’s refreshing, irreverent, and guarantees a fantastic evening.
