Emmanuel Macron et Sa Majesté Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Roi de Bahreïn / His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain
The King of Bahrain visited Paris to sign a defense agreement with France and discuss investment opportunities.
His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, was received today by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The meeting highlights the shared commitment of France and Bahrain to strengthen political, economic, and defense relations.
During the visit, the two countries signed a defense cooperation agreement, which covers military equipment, training, strategic information exchange, and joint defense initiatives. The agreement also opens the door to new industrial and technological partnerships in the defense sector.
In addition, the leaders discussed mutual investments. Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund, Mumtalakat, will participate in Choose France, the annual investment event held in Versailles this spring to attract foreign investors. Officials indicated that this could lead to announcements of investment projects in France across areas of common interest.
This visit reflects the desire of both nations to strengthen their strategic and economic partnership, reinforcing ties between Europe and the Gulf region in a rapidly evolving international context.
