Monday, March 21, Fiona Gélin was on the stage of the Comédie Montorgueil to recite and sing poems written by her father, actor Daniel Gélin. She was accompanied on the guitar by her companion, Richard Bauduin, alias ChardRy, the Man with the Blue Guitar.

Who is Fiona Gelin?

Fiona Gélin is the daughter of actor Daniel Gélin and his second wife Sylvie Hirsh. Her brother is Manuel Gélin, her other brother Pascal died as a child. She has a half-sister Laura and also had a half-brother and half-sister, both of whom are deceased.

It was at the age of 6 that she made her debut in front of the camera in Mayerling by Terence Young.
At 19, she began her film career in the film “Le roi des cons”, then filmed in “Le grand carnaval” by Alexandre Arcady.

In 1984, she posed topless in front of Mireille Darc’s lens, a controversy that would make her a sex symbol of the 1980s, a period during which she played supporting roles in the cinema. We then see her in TV movies on the small screen during the 90s.

In 2003, she decided to recount her “descent into hell” by writing her first autobiography, “Retour d’errance”. She then resumed the path of the boards, showing many plays until 2009. That year, she released an autobiographical album “Passport”. Unfortunately, her demons catch up with her and in 2016 she publishes a second autobiography “Si fragile” where she talks about alcoholism and stays in psychiatric hospitals.

A new adventure

Fiona Gélin is not alone in this new stage of her professional life. Indeed, she walked the boards of the Comédie Montorgueil with the one who shares her life, her tastes and her joys since 2020, Richard Bauduin, alias ChardRy. The latter accompanies her on the guitar while she recites or sings texts and poems written by her father Daniel Gélin.

This romantic duo found itself on the poster of the play “A mon père” for a moving show full of sensations for lovers of poetry who discovered the texts of an artist declaimed and sung by his daughter who by this bias pays tribute to him on the twentieth anniversary of his death.

However, this project is not recent, since Fiona had spoken about it to her father, but the trigger is the meeting between Fiona and the guitarist, songwriter and performer ChardRy. Their love story made it possible to create this spectacle of poems, full of stories and anecdotes, which reveals the intimacy of a father and his daughter. The sweet voice of the actress revives the soul of Daniel Gélin in the hearts of the spectators.

On March 21, Fiona Gélin was resplendent in her floral dress, flowers reminiscent of her father’s secret garden, which he represented in his poems. To go with it, ChardRy wore a rock style hat and jacket.

In the room, we could recognize Manuel Gélin and his wife Juliette who had come to applaud the star couple, the model Jérémy Bellet, the event organizer Véronique Koch.

Tour

“To my father” is present at the 24th edition of the Printemps des Poètes, from March 12 to 28, 2022.

A tour is being prepared in Brittany, near Châteaubriant, where Daniel Gélin rests, then throughout France.

Poetry readings will take place in libraries and media libraries in France, Belgium and Switzerland.
