An unprecedented double for the Poly Son Post-production studio which won both the César & Techniques Trophy and the César & Techniques Innovation Prize this Monday, January 8. These prizes have been awarded since 2011 by the Académie des César, Audiens and FICAM. They reward companies in the technical cinema sector in France for their contribution and innovation in the cinema sector.
Parisian global digital post-production company Image and Sound operating in the cinema and audiovisual market, Poly Son is involved in the manufacturing chain from filming (digital laboratory) to delivery of the final elements (Masters, PAD) . Created in 2000 by its president Nicolas Naegelen, the company – regularly supported by the CNC in the context of aid for innovation and technical industries – received the César & Techniques Trophy for its trajectory as well as its capacity for innovation.
Indeed, Poly Son has experienced significant development in recent years, both in terms of new services offered and the number and quality of films processed. Among the feature films recently supported, the Palme d’Or 2023 Anatomy of a Fall by Justine Triet (sound editing, post-synchronization, mixing, sound effects), Le Règne Animal by Thomas Cailley (digital laboratory, calibration, editing, post- synchronization) or Les Amandiers by Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi (post-synchronization and mixing).
In 2022, Poly Son carried out two growth operations. She joined the company HAL, which has an innovative Research and Development department focusing on audio software for post-production, sound library management and immersive sound recording devices. Then it acquired the “Pilon Cinéma” cinema mixing auditorium based on the Pixel center in Lyon, which allows it to establish itself in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region. In 2023, Poly Son is one of the two post-production companies winning the France 2030 / Grande Fabrique de l’Image call for projects.
Furthermore, Poly Son was awarded the César & Technique Innovation Prize for the design of BOOM-IT, a plug-in for Protools software intended for the processing of studio voices (post-synchro, dubbing, animation) allowing simplified and realistic integration of vocals during mixing.
